Hoplites were melee spearmen in ancient Greece looking somewhat like this.

My aim is to create a melee spearman. Whereas Paragon was support, Hoplites would be more of a headstrong tank with less armor and more dmg.
Attributes
Courage (Primary)- The Hoplite is a fierce warrior who fears nothing, each point in this skill increases AL by 3 and decreases skill recharge time by .5%. This skill helps skills, especially those related to Courage.
Doru Mastery (Doru was the name of a spear)- The Hoplite is adept in using his doru (spear). Points in this attribute help especially with skills related to Doru Mastery.
Shield Expertise- The Hoplite is skilled in blocking. Each point in this attribute adds a 1% chance to block, as well as helping especially with skills related to Shield Expertise.
Battle Formation- The Hoplite is a very coordinated class, and is very smart in battle. Each point in battle formations helps especially with skills related to Battle Formations.
Equipment
Doru (spear)- 19-31 damage maximum
Shields- 14-18 armor maximum (yes it's higher then the others, but Hoplites are very adept in Shields.)
70AL maximum, =.5% chance to block and .5% more damage on each peice of armor.
Insignias:
Loyal Insignia- .5% chance to block and .5% more damage for each insignia.
Spearman's Insignia- Doru Mastery increased by .2 for each Insignia.
Unending Fighter's Insignia- After combat has been engaged for more than 50(1 insignia) to 10 (5 insignias) seconds, you gain 1 health regeneration until battle ends.
Skills:
Courage:
No Fear! [Elite] For 3....17 seconds, you cannot be affected by conditions, and damage is halved.
For the (your race)! Shout. For 5...17 seconds, all party members of your race gain 3 health regeneration and cannot be blocked, but all party members of different races gain 1 health DEgeneration.
Onward!- For 13...34 seconds, you cannot be knocked down.
Brave but Risky- 2 outcomes. 20% chance that you gain +225 maximum health for 10...27 seconds. 80% chance that you lose half of your current health, and your target is healed for half of it's current health. If you have no target, you are reduced to 1...14 life.
Doru Mastery-
Ferocious Stab- Stab you foe for +10...37 damage, and bleed them.
Triple Slice- Attack foe 3 times for 60% damage each time.
Silencing Slam[Elite]- Slam into your foe, knocking him down for 3 seconds and dazing him for 20 seconds.
Countering Thrust[Elite]- For 10 seconds, you take up this stance. Once you are hit, this stance ends and you block the attack, then the attacker takes 12...96 damage and bleeds for 5...10 seconds.
Plunge of the Spear[Elite]- For 3...10 seconds, target foe is stunned and cannot attack. You cannot move, and are forced to attack this foe. During this time, you gain 25% more speed but 25% less damage.
Way of the Spear- For 2...10 seconds, you attack 10% faster and do 10% more damage, and cause bleeding for 1...3 second(s).
Sheild Expertise-
Defense of Eceerg- For 5...10 seconds, all damage to the party is directed evenly to all Hoplites in the party.
Shield of Balthazar[Elite]- For 20...40 seconds, your shield is set aflame. Any time you block an attack, the attacker is burned for 5...7 seconds.
Icy Circumference[Elite]- For 3...10 seconds, all damage is absorbed by your shield, then, when this skill ends, all damage absorbed is halved, then shot at your target in an icy blast. If you have no target when this ends, you gain +100 health for 30 seconds.
Battle Formations-
Monks in Back!- All damage to the monks is directed to you for the next 12...20 seconds.
Take Cover![Elite]- For 5...12 seconds, no party members may move or take damage, but may attack anyone within range. When this ends, you suffer from exhaustion for 13...9 seconds.
Stick Together! You are teleported to the closest other Hoplite. If you are the only Hoplite, or the other Hoplites are dead, you gain 15% more damage for the next 7...15 seconds, but suffer from cripple.
Look Description-
I imagine these guys to be strong (not as strong as warriors but strong still), agile looking, very professional and in-line, soldier people that act like soldiers...i.e. stand up straight, hold spear up straight when not fighting, have a serious face. melee spears will be cool because spears was used for close and far range attacks, so it will be a greek paragon who don't yell so much and instead of throwing there spears at things they stabs things with it, I like it but I think any of these classes won't be added until future chapters or expensions or when they decide to add more classes.
