Blue Magic
well I searched for Blue magic and cap monster skills and got nothing so lets hope this hasnt been beaten to the ground already
I was just looking around the wiki and I came across the list of monster skills and I thought you know that would make an awsome profession a blue magic user could cap monster skills and use a number of them based on an attribute level something like
Blue magic the number of blue magic skills you can have on your bar increases by 1 for ever 2.5 ranks in this attribute.
So at a max of 20 points you could have a full bar of monster skills. The skills them self could be capped by way of a skill that would interrupt the cast of the skill and add replace it with the monster skill.
Learn Magic. 10e 1/4 10r This skill interrupts targets monster skill and is replaced perminently with that skill. and is disabled for 25 seconds Targeted foes skill is instantly recharges.
other skills for this profession could include things such as
Copy attack 5e 2 10r for the next ten seconds this skill is replaced with the next non-elite attack skill used against you.
Copy Elite attack. Im sure you get the point
Copy Spell anyone wanna take a wild guess
Copy Elite Spell
now for the fun ones
Become ally 25e 10 120 for the next 60 seconds you have all the attributes and skills of targeted ally
Become Enemy 25e 10 120 for the next 60 seconds you have all the attributes and skills of targeted enemy at your current level
Borrow Weapon 10e 3/4 30 for the next 5-15 seconds your weapon becomes a non req version of targets currently equiped weapon. all of targets weapon skills are disabled for the duration of this spell
I could sit here for quite a while coming up with things to add to this idea but I think you get it what do you think?

Not to crush your idea but this is just a tweaked Ranger(beastmaster) they also might have some monster skill learning in the future, the learn magic attribute sounds alot like signet of capture just tweaked.

1. Check the Concept Forums in Sardelac Sanitarium.
2. Blue Mage is the most annoying class from the Final Fantasy series. Ever.

lol they try like hell to not copy WoW alone let alone....the entire ff series....it would be good in its own sense like an X-men rogue kinda thing where you can temporarily use skills of nearby allies or enemies along with a few unique to your profession...which is in a weird sorta way like a the graven monoliths anyways.

From what I rememeber of blue magic from M:TG, it's most similar to the mesmer.
Also, this belongs in Sardelac where it can be conveniently ignored.

The OP is referencing the "blue mage" from the ff series, not blue magic from MtG.
But you're right, this is mostly covered in GW by the mesmer, who has the only "copy ally's spell" skill that I'm aware of.

yeah but its copy target ally's not form elite skill which is ghey....then theres arcane mimicry, theivery, and simple theivery but those are random and you may even copy the same skill twice.

perhaps you have missed the part I liked the most I don't mean like steal normal skills from people I mean like a profession that can get and have on their skill bar the MONSTER skills
have it as your primary prefession and use
Reform Carvings
player reforms its body, to restore energy and take on a new profession. player is only changed in its profession, not energy or health.
or
Corsair's Net
From Guild Wars Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search
Corsair's Net
Throw a net at target foe. On impact, all foes in the area are slowed 90% for 10 seconds. The net projectile flies at a quarter of the normal speed
Abaddon's Favor
If target ally is enchanted with Abaddon's Chosen, all foes in the area lose 70 Health and target ally gains 70 Health
or any of the other applicable skills on this list
yes I agree that a mesmer can use other classes skills but that wasnt what I was getting at here

This wouldn't work cuz then u could steal Shiro's skills for example and totally own everyone. It's waaaaaay overpowered.

First of all, this should be in Sardelac Sanitarium since it's not really a CC. Since it's on the top of the list right now for some reason, I'll give it a quick response.
Having a class based on copying monster skills doesn't work... why? Because professions need to be able to play PvE and PvP. There aren't many monsters in PvP.
Having a class that mimicks other players is a little better, since it can be used in both PvE and PvP. Judging from the responses so far though, people seem to think that's overpowered and should be left to the Mesmer.

I don't know about you but I personally killed Shiro .... also Shiro is level 31 and battle scars lasts for 7 seconds, so at only lvl 20 it would last for considerably less time. Using only ratio of seconds to level at 7/31=.22 seconds per level x level 20 = 4.4 seconds and since GW rounds down it would be 4 seconds... in theory I know it would be more appropriatly determined by attribute points but I don't know how many of those Shiro has.
alright exactly how isnt a class that can obtain and use monster skills a Custom Class suggestion?
you cant use cap sig in pvp either you have to go cap the skills in pve to use them in pvp same thing goes for monster skills in pvp you have to cap them outside
