huh?
only inside the game!
not disable copy/paste in windowz
its easy....even i can do it inside text boxes on websites for example with basic actionscript.(so that you're not allowed to cpy/paste your username/login)
u just need to make that particular text field (local chat) refuse input from teh buffer. its a 2 second job.

Nothing wrong with copy and past, its just the people who abuse it who are wrong, work on the cause, and do not prohibit a legitimate and handy tool. I.E. ban spammers.

/signed disable the press up to spam more tool, i see no purpose in it other than to spam. And disallow copy/pasted comment into all chat (but allow it in guild halls and stuff i suppose...)

That's not a pun.
Before I sign this, what would you guys propose to make selling or looking for a seller more convenient?

Try the party search feature? Maybe if we disable spammer's precious spamming abilities, they'll take a hint and start using it.

Better that the up arrow repeat text buffer gets nerfed such that it only allows repeats every 30 seconds or so. That too would gain the desired effect without disabling its useful quality of remembering things you have typed.
When selling I only repeat my sell line for a particular item around once a minute or so, on trade channel, since that is plenty often enough for anyone standing in town to see it, or see it if they missed it the first time. However, last thing I want to have to do is retype it every time or, retype multiple WTS for which the up arrow buffer is very handy.

Although I'm not saying I agree with the OP, I do wonder if anyone can name any reason that the buffer needs to exist other than spam.
Seriously, how is it "useful" for anything other than constantly repeating yourself (i.e. spam)?

I just did. You need it to repeat yourself of various things you are selling. Terribly annoying if all that had to be retyped every time and that's why I wont sign this, despite urging for a spam solution from Anet here as well as a few other topics.
Spam of course is not simply repeating yourself. Spam is repeating yourself in rapid succession several to many times in a row, in addition to placing it on the wrong channel. You dont seem to be differentiating between spamming, and simply repeating yourself after a reasonable amount of time has gone by and your item(s) havent sold.
This has the workings of a good idea though if the speed with which the buffer could be repeated was dropped rather than disabling it. Accomplishes more or less the same thing as the OP describes and would cut back on spam some, without requiring one to retype every single WTS they have in que.

Let me explain to you how spam bots could work. You could make a macro that would type the whole sentence for you then just run it over and over again quickly to get the same effect.

It took me ages to find the alt+up key in WoW so you speak the same thing again and it drove me mad. Sometimes, you need to be able to spam.

Agreed. You NEVER need to. If you're looking for a party...*idea*...use party search. Don't even think of giving any of that "Nobody uses party search" as a means of opposing this, as this could be the very way to actually make people use it.
