Of Slaying mods - giving Factions the bone?
i'm wondering why no new species-slaying mods have been added with factions and nightfall. (or were there?) take the echovald forest, for example...full of insects, wardens, and dredge. nightfall is different, as margonites and many other common baddies are considered demons. but factions, in particular, seems to suffer most from the lack of proper slaying mods.
here's what i'd like to see...
...of Insectslaying (good for NF and Proph too)
...of Foeslaying (for human and humanoid foes, ie. jades, am fah, kournans, outcasts, afflicted, etc)
...of Dredgeslaying
...of Wardenslaying
...of Nagaslaying
...of Turtleslaying
...of Wallowslaying
...of Fishslaying (lol, creeping carp, scuttle fish, etc)
if this has been brought up before, ignore plz

I'd certainly use a humanslaying one! /signed
It's true, these should have been added. I've never used one of these mods simply because they are area specific but if the catagories were more specific, such as human slaying I might think about it.
How about prof catagories as well. We could have:
..of Parrying (+20% against warrior, dervish, sin)
..of Magic Sapping (+15% against ele, mes, necro, rit, monk)
..of Deflection (+25% against ranger, para)
obviously the ones with less classes in have a higher bonus as you'll be getting the boost less.

Would be a nice little edge to help with vanquishing, otherwise why not remove ALL <species>slaying mods if Factions and Nightfall can't have any?

Is there an:
Of Mursaatslaying?
Of Titanslaying?
Of Forgottenslaying?
Of Hydaslaying?
Of Griffonslaying?
Of Skaleslaying?
No. So why would there be the ones you've suggested? They're not going to make a new mod to help you fight every single monster you might fight.

that's my point. many species are missing. why even have the species-slaying mods if they're not going to cover everything? at least tweak the old mods to cover a broader ranger of baddies (ie. mursaat and titans considered demons, hydras considered dragons, etc) and fill in the gaps with new mods altogether (like insectslaying...honestly, how many friggin bugs are there in the game? there's even a bounty for them.)
it just seems to me like the species slaying mods weren't planned very well, perhaps even forgotten about. they should cover everything or take them out altogether.
i'm sure any urgoz ranger would cream themselves over a warden/dredgeslaying mod - i would!

I think they're meant to be for the most common enemies (save humanslaying - not a great idea) across all campaigns. Plants were pretty scarce until Nightfall came out, and other than a handful of areas, Dwarves, Ogres and Giants are scarce, probably until GWEN comes out. Then, there should be a good balance of all the creatures that are classified by slaying mods. Everything else is extra, too specific, and not enough to warrant another mod to muck up all the random possibilities we have now.
My question is, why of all of the slaying mods do I see almost exclusively Deathbane, occasionally Pruning, and rarely if ever any others? Does anyone else have this problem?

Demos are not scarce... all the Torment and Anguish creatures are demons.
I'd make it much more easier...
Dragon slaying
- Drakes, dragons, kirin, forgotten ones, hydras...
Beastslaying
- Ntouka, Cobalts, Tusked, Dolyaks, Wallows, turtles, skales, griffons, etc...
Bugslaying:
- Devourers, spiders, insects...
Animalslaying:
- Animal companions.
Aberration slaying:
- Afflicted, flesh golems, gargoyles, trolls, warden, vampires, etc...
Planarslaying (from other worlds or realms)
- Mursaat, seers, demons, titans, mursaat, some spirits, etc...
Elementalslaying
- Elementals, imps, djinns, furious ethers, elemental golems, lands, etc...
Constructslaying
- Golems, monoliths, guardian statues, furious ethers, objcts (like the solitary colossus or catapults), minions...
Undeadslaying
- Ghosts, Skeletons, ghouls, zombies, mummies...
Demislayeing
- 'Demihumans': Charr, Tengu, Centaur, Dredge, Hecket, Naga, Harpies... etc...
Rootslaying
- Plants, Mandragors...
Instead of making tons of categories, we have a few, and put eavery creature in one...
