Cool Aged Guilds.

I was sitting, staring at my screen blankly Dazed frankly. And it occurred to me after the past birthday festivities that the guild I was left to Wallow in(Dont get me wrong, I am a content wallower) was quite old.Im sure there are some older guilds out there still thriving.Be nice to see that recognized in some manner.Perhaps an old fart emote or matador move with the cape.Ill go back to my hypnosis now.

/signed for a guild birthday emote or other reward for being around so long.

Alot of guilds come and go, mines only a year or so. But there are a few that have been around for a long time. It would be nice to see them noticed.

Tenshi, you should have a mini storage chest that follows you around.Or whip your cape up like dracula emote.

Thumbs up Aye

I founded my guild the 25th of July 2005.
Almost 2 years and still alive, might deserve some kind of acknowledgement, as a way to show others your guild is a long-term stable one, persisting in its survival.

What about giving aged guilds a special feature for their cape, that makes it definitely stand out from the crowd (a bit in the vain of permanent gold and silver cape trims for tournament finalists)?

Indeed. Trims for guilds that have been around for years would be an excellent feature.

No, it doesn't. That format is just as bad. The International Date Format is clearly the best there is.

The international format defined by ISO (IS0 8601) tries to address all these problems by defining a numerical date system as follows: YYYY-MM-DD where
  1. YYYY is the year [all the digits, i.e. 2012]
  2. MM is the month [01 (January) to 12 (December)]
  3. DD is the day [01 to 31]
For example, "3rd of April 2002", in this international format is written: 2002-04-03.

But let's stay on topic, please.

There might be a couple of issues with trims:
  1. guilds with gold or silver trims might also be 2 years in age, so how would that combine?
  2. if the color of a trim can be chosen, then some might abuse it to fake tournament reward golden and silver trims;
  3. if the color of a trim cannot be chosen, it must be a color that matches with all other colors (outside the allready taken gold and silver, I cannot immediately think of a color that would match any cape, except for bronze, which would ressemble gold too much).
It definitely should be something very visible with the cape though ...
but what exactly?

ok i was thinking that if the guild is a year old it should get a dusty look and if the guild is 2 or more years old it should get a "ghostly" look so it is tranparent like eternal weps

Giving Guilds the same trims as those found in GvG would be a bad idea. Guilds who compete at the top level would, frankly, be very angry to lose their uniqueness and leetness.

Now of course don't get me wrong, I do think it's an honor and accomplishment for a Guild to stay together for so long (mine has been around since launch in May'05 and it's not easy), but also having been a GvG Guild who has earned trims before through hard work and skill, I know that other GvG Guilds would get angry.

Many of them stating their opinion a bit more rudely than I am now :P.

As for some other type of reward that is unique. Sure that's a great idea.

Nobody is suggesting to give aged guilds the same trims as top GvG guilds, so please do not insinuate this kind of intention.
Thought is going however on how to imply a cape feat without creating confusion with the allready existant trims.

My guild was apparently created 06/09/2005 (I just look at my guild leader's join date). I wouldn't mind if our guild got some recognition of its age.
