Default Very Simple Fix To Trade Spam Problem --> Change Font Color

The reason why people use the all chat channel is because the puke pink color font on the trade channel is unreadable. Go into KC and you will find is almost impossible to read the puke pink on the puke pink tiles. It is so bad it makes me want to puke.

If you want to eliminate the ill will that marks and demerits and suspensions create for customers, just change the color of the font to white for trade and some other color for chat.

Simple! No whining little 12 year people acting like hall monitors in the cities. No marks, no suspensions, no complaints by anet customers to support when (and I kind of doubt it is gonna happen anyways) you suspend people for {gasp} typing in the wrong channel.

Come on... try it and see the good will you will generate for once. Make trade font white, make chat font some other color. Eliminate the puke pink.

Nah, just make every chat type the same colour in towns. That way people have nothing to complain about. If they don't turn off trade, it's their own fault for thinking everyone was spamming in local.

That would work also. I don't sell much in town (as evidenced by my full storage...) but after a few minutes in town today trying to buy some stuff, I had an eye ache trying to read all that pink font. The person who came up with pink font should be forced to spend 30 minutes reading every line of trade chat in district 1 of LA, KC, or Kam and see how long it takes for a headache to appear. Then when they are screaming for enough... fire them.

It's easy to read when you have the chat panel open, which is generally the only way I read Trade chat anyway. Still, on a flat panel, it's still fairly easy to read, though perhaps CRT monitors have more trouble with that. Maybe the color should be brighter, then.

Actually the reason the Trade Channel is harder to read is because both the names on the channel and the messages themselves are the same color. Causes it all to mass up as one large wall of text. What is needed is differentiating the color of the name from the message, since that serves as a visual line break and allows you to scan the channel much easier (a la All channel, which is yellow names and white text). The actual pink text can be read pretty easily if the chat window is open.

Since channels are differentiated by text color when you have a few open, my vote would be to work on the tints used for trade channel text to differentiate the name from the message. Since this is SO easily done, and since the block of text problem is an issue on the Trade channel and has been for ages now, I dont know why Anet hasnt fixed this long ago, let alone the fact that this has come up a few times both here and Riverside.

/signed for this. Change the name colour instead of having it all the same.

This is nonsense... I have never had any problems with the color font.

^ I have, its not endoftheworld, but it does make it harder to read.

Just change the tint, so its easier to read.

LOL, this is funny. Last night I am trying to do one of the DOA quests and a bunch of us are on vent. Two of the guys start complaining about how the color of the font in trade is so hard to read they hate the new rules. They sounded like they were in their 30's -40ish.

Then this morning my 8 yr old son jumps on and is trying to buy something in town. He is using the chat channel and someone tells him to quit or get banned (typical little hall monitor narc). He asks me why he would get banned or is this guy just being a typical GW jerk. I explained the new rules. He immediately complained that is is impossible to differentiate the lines with the pink font and said he is never trading again. Then he proceeded to call the anet people some names.

So... in just 24 hours, unsolicited, I have witnessed 2 old guys and a young one complaining about the very same thing... THE PINK COLOR. It is not just a case of old eyes not being able to see well. Please change the font color.

Oh.. and I do keep the dialog window open to have that blackish background. It still doesn't help.

The reason people spam trades in public has nothing to do with the font colour. People do that because they know people close trade chat.
Unfortunately, they're too stupid to realise WHY they're closing trade chat. (BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED IN TRADING)

I always prefered selling/reading local chat cause it's much easier to read. The font color in trade chat is horrible and as some have mentioned, it's a complete mess when multiple people are trying to sell in it.

Just change trade chat dialogue to white. All the other channels except the whisper channel have white font except for the names. Why couldn't they have made trade the same way?
