Luxon and Kurzick Heroes
I thought it would be cool to have a heroes from the factions in Cantha. These heroes would be aquired through simple "Gain Hero" quests in the factions' respective capitals. Nothing to fancy for aquisition. I think these heroes would need to be very unique. I can't figure out what a good Luxon hero would be because you can't teach skills to Siege Turtles, not to mention their size. That side of my idea has really stumped me and I need help with it. But for the Kurzick hero, I think a Juggernaught would be an awesome addition to the player party. I don't know for sure, but I believe they are warriors and, being humanoid, could be taught skills. If they can't hold weapons, they could be restricted to sword or something, because their arms look like blades. I think that would be really cool. There should be no faction requirement for the heroes, just access to the respective capitals, especially since I'm Luxon and I want a juggernaught . I am really stumped about the Luxon hero, and that leaves a gap here, but I know someone here can come up with something.

Neither the Juggernaut or the Seige turtle would work as a hero - They're simply too big, which is not bad now, but in small corridors in GW:EN's dungeons? Who knows.. But Luxon and Kurzick heros, thats a good idea. Its something I thought about when I first heard about heroes, but I never really thought about it again.
I think that the Luxon hero would likely be either a warrior or a ranger, in traditional Luxon armor. Said hero could be someone who fought against you in the fight for the Spear of Archemorous, and wished to join you afterwards.
The Kurzick could be dressed in traditional Kurzick reglaia, and probably be a mesmer, a monk or (most likely) a ritualist. Maybe you saved his/her life in the... is it Arborstone? cathedral. S/he knew he owed his life to you, so decided to join you as penance for his/her failure to save the cathedral from its in time of need.

/signed if it's realistic - I don't want to be able to just waltz into Cavalon and get an extra hero. Maybe a series of quests or one really long one to obtain the services of the hero. Also, you shouldn't be able to have both in your party at once, it just wouldn't make sense.

Here's an idea: Tie it to the [friend of x] ranks. A bit like the skills. Something like this:
Once [character] reaches [rank x], [character] can take [hero] pickup quest from [npc]. Once [character] acquires [hero], can purchase elite armor for [hero] at [rank x+n, rank x+2n]
An example in plain english feat my primary character:
Once Rena Sapphireblade reaches rank 2 of 'Friend of the Kurzicks' she can obtain the quest, 'Shadow On The Trail' from Count Zu Heltzer in House Zu Heltzer. The quest will be to go investigate mysterious disappearances on the Morostav Trail with the aid of, "Erika Zu Heltzer." Upon reaching the quest checkpoint and talking to Erika, Rena will be transported into a mini-mission with her party where they have to defeat several waves of afflicted before they kill the kurzick travelers. Upon completion of this quest, Rena can get her reward from Count Zu Heltzer and Erika will join as a hero. As Erika is a pureblood Kurzick, she will be able to equip the Kurzick PvE skills that Rena has obtained. (She would start with the one of her profession, obviously )
Once Rena reaches r5 of the title, she will be able to purchase Erika's 1st elite armor for 5k Kurzick Faction. Once she reaches r8, she will be able to purchase the 2nd set for 10k Kurzick Faction.
There, thats my take on it. You see that, it's called incentive and reward, Anet
Oh and if you do it, please make the luxon hero a snake (naga) That would be so cool

Thats a pretty neat idea. I like the armors from titles, though, maybe having one set from the title, and one from one of the challenge missions, or a small donation. And if the Luxons had a Naga, don't you think the Kurzicks could have a character of a different race? Dredge, or Warden, or something similar?

I don't see it happening.
First off, what class does each faction get? If you give Luxons a Ranger, and Kurzicks a Necro (based on hench), how many people will complain that the get a THIRD hero of those classes, and why can't a Luxon get a Necro? If you give both factions a hero of the same class, which class, and why add 2 heroes of the same class? Can you get both, if not, why?
Second, if there was a way to appease people with class types for the 2 factions, how does it fit the story? Except for Olias and Zenmai, ALL heroes in Nightfall fit into the story. Even Olias and Zenmai are given some decent 'reasons' to exist with their quest. Missions are not set up to require a hero in Factions, and quests would require MAJOR changes to do so. Nightfall already has those issues settled, how do you add that to Factions?
Third, you have forgotten Prophecies. Although there aren't Factions, if you add heroes to Factions, you need to add them to all games. Same issues enter into this though. What classes, what quests/missions need them, and how do you get them come into play.
Although it would be nice, it is a MAJOR change that would take too much time. I'd rather they spend their time working on GW:EN and GW2, and fixing bugs and balancing the current game.

I like this idea but not tied in with faction allegiance since that's pretty much forcing pve pleayers like me to pvp and some of us hate doing pvp, so I say just make it a long quest.

At maximum, all we need is three of each class of hero, thus allowing you to fill to your limit. Let us assume, for the moment, that the GWEN's 10 heroes correspond to the 10 professions.
Warrior- Koss, Goren, Smexy Norn lady.
Ranger- Margrid, Jin, Insert-GWEN-hero-here.
Necro- Olias, Whispers, GWEN.
Elementalist- Sousuke, Zhed, GWEN.
Mesmer- Norgu, GWEN. Attention required.
Monk- Dunkoro, Tahlkora, GWEN.
Ritualist- Razah, GWEN. One here.
Assassin- Zenmai, GWEN. Yet another here.
Paragon- Morgahn, GWEN. Insert requirement here.
Dervish- Melonni, GWEN. One needed here.
So, making the vast, purely-conjecture-based assumption that one of each class will be added(sketchy as that may be), we need a Mesmer, Ritualist, Assassin, Paragon, and Dervish.
Kurzick- Ritualist. They've got the traditions, the history, the song, etc. Perhaps an exalted member of the power structure on one hand, maybe a rebel against customs and ceremony. With the dredge nearby, the Kurzick should certainly be interested in the tunnel system and What Lies Beneath.
Luxon- Assassin. Swift and decisive, like a striking serpent. Massive shattering across a sea of jade tends to attract notice. As a result, it seems a good idea to send in an expert scout, a stealthy survivalist to investigate the circumstances.
Paragon and Dervish from wherever in Nightfall. Anything from a simple Kournan from a recovering empire, a Vabbian dedicated to cause of preserving the world, or another corsair, although those have been covered. If we want unique, a member of Palawa's undead horde, a turned Margonite like the Lost, or even one of the Djinn would be nifty. (Personally, I'd love to see an undead cavalier as a companion, as well as a sapphire djinn like Dehjah. Interesting history, plenty of personality possibilities, and nifty graphic options abound.)
That leaves the Mesmer, which would easily be Tyrian. The most likely location for such an individual would be the Shining Blade, who probably don't have much to do after the upheaval of the White Mantle. A crystal desert ghost would be a little wierd, the Ring of Fire doesn't seem to have a large population, and Ascalon needs all the people it can get to rebuild. So, one of the Blades, preferably of the attractive variety (no offense, Norgu, but you aren't exactly easy on the eyes.), who serves as another link to the original campaign.
The one obvious problem is that GWEN is still a ways away. So, how do they fit in, when we, being the impatient players we are, want them now?
Remember when the Tomb of the Primeval Kings was ensnared by Dark Tentacles of the Shadowy Shade of the Umbra? Great times, and fantastic prelude to that wonderful fall into night.
So, let's do the same sort of thing. Kurzicks investigate the Dredge, who launch an all-out blitz in response to a disturbance beneath the ground. The outcasts, who congregate around Kanaxai's den, suddenly frenzy around the Archipelagos. The Djinn are concerned about recent rumblings, and the shifting sands of the desolation are picking up tremors. Even the druids of Maguuma are concerned, transcendent as they may be.
As a result, each campaign gets a few minor quests as a prelude to GWEN, with new heroes, a sneak-peek of lore, and a growing anticipation of the upcoming game.
Thoughts?

Definetally. We need just about 1 more hero for each profession, and Luxon/Kurzick would be a great place to put them. Have 8 new heroes on each side, one for each of the factions and prophecies profs. Awsome.
