Default In-Game Reward for Vanquisher Title

I'm currently vanquishing Cantha with my mesmer. Having a good time but was thinking that I deserve a bigger reward than just some XP and Gold

My idea was that once you've vanquished a certain area you would be given an option next time you enter that instance to have no enemies spawn. You could then lark around at your leisure maybe doing some cartography or just getting some screenshots, whatever. I believe a similar thing happens in Zen Daijun for Canthan characters who have completed 'Unwelcome Guest'.

To stop exploiters you'd make sure no chests spawn and obviously quests would be difficult without any monsters to beat. Although I'd allow quests where you need to talk to a NPC who always spawns (Like the Pass the Buck with all the ministers in Cantha for instance).

I'm not sure if this would be would be worth the Devs time and effort but I thought I'd put the idea out there anyway.

Well as long as any quests that spawn monsters still have their monsters spawn (eg titan quests), I've got no complaint with this.

But to prevent runners having things far too easy, this should only be an option if all human party members have vanquished that area.

Though I can see a possible exploit where people vanquish one area to clear it out, but don't vanquish the next so they have an easy farming run. Though I can't think of any place where this would be an advantage.

I think they would have to be very careful because it's the sort of thing that could lead to many unintended exploits.

That said, I still think it's worth doing, and if it does make running easier then I think that's ok, because you've earned it by vanquishing it in the first place.

What you said about only allowing entire parties who have vanquished though is spot on.

Another thought, would it be better to limit the 'no spawn' option only to people who have vanquished the entire continent?

Good

Can do Old Ascalon with 8/8 party without having to run back to where we got up to last run
And if your in a group with people they don't take kindly to waiting while you Explore before they can zone to next area

Im not sure about having the reward be "no enemies in the zone to explore", because on Normal Mode any area is easy to explore.

What would be the fun in exploring if you had nothing to fight as you went?

I agree though, that the reward for vanquishing should be better. I vanquished Elona's noob island over the weekend and It didnt really feel very satisfying.

But in Elona you get double faction points for killing creatures.

Maybe add a similar system to cantha, where you get luxon or Kuzack points for killing creatures in HM zones? Speaking to priests to gain favour and points.

It would make it alot more worthy.

The Faction rewards on the Kurz/Luxon priests already double in Hard Mode, is that what you mean.

Or are you talking about adding preists to ALL zones in Cantha. Perhaps not even priests but Kurz/Luxon scouts maybe (they would be ok standing next to each other at a shrine cause any vanquisher would have completed the game, so storywise they were on speaking terms)
