Hit messages, Dualscreens, mp3 player
Hey,
I've only gotten into GW a pretty short while ago, but loving it - in so many ways it's the game I've always wanted. I didn't find the following suggestions in the forum search, sorry if they've showed up before - it's just a few optional things that I'd really like to see in a future release or in GW2.
- more math
I'd like the option to get 'verbose' hit messages, like how much damage hits how much armor floating over the characters' heads. I enjoyed how Baldur's Gate did that back in the day, letting you choose if you want to see every dice roll or just area effects, etc. With a little more maths, I'd feel more of an impact after improving skills or getting new gear.
- dual screen support
I'm a film editor and have a dual screen setup at home, one widescreen, one square. I really liked that Supreme Commander let me use the small one for a map - in GW it'd be perfect to stash the whole UI into - mission map, inventory et al. That would give me the option of seeing the beautiful settings unspoiled in 16:10 and have more overview in big battles. Please!
- an mp3 player
Once again, I'm gonna refer to another game - GTA (the recent 3) on the pc. It let me load a bunch of my mp3s into a folder that I could listen to while driving around in cars. An mp3 player would be great in GW. Purists can stick to the score (which is great), but if I want to, I'd really like to throw in some hard rock during battes, Philip Glass during exploration, or some nice jazz while hanging out in town.
So. Any opinions?

I don't really want to fill my console/chat window with imaginary dice rolls like in Infinity series, there's just too much damage being dealt to keep track of it on any reasonable scale. Unlike D&D, there are no attack rolls and no turns to take, you can easily whip out damage to dozens of creatures each second.
Dual screen support would be nice, I can't really use it but I see the benefits of such an option.
As for the MP3 player, if GW2 will feature such amazing minimization capabilities as GW1, there's really no need for an in-game MP3 player. You can just run Winamp or whatever in the background.

/signed on all, ok the math thing could be in a diff tab like it is in wow *i know shoot me i said the forbidden word.* and the dual screen thing would be cool, but i dont use it lol. the mp3 player would only be client side so there would be absolutly no drag on the game, unless your comp sucks, in which case it would suck even if you ran windows media in the background.
