no guns in GW nor in GW2 ...looks only stupid, when u have there a ranger, who fights with bows and beneath u stands than a musketeer with his uber rifle...
this is weird !! there id prefer then 1000 times more stupid ugly crossbows, then revolvers, pistols, rifles and whatever ..those r simple too futuristic ..
make out of GW no Final Fantasy -.- or boring Granado Espada, which plays on an totally different time age, then GW
sure, GW needs more classes, like the ranger, but even then id prefer a million times more rogues, which fight with bows too, like on Ragnarok Online

Question what Time Age is GW in?
Cause you say their can't be Guns even if their are already Robots and Machines?
Asura, Dwarves, Stone Summit, Luxon's Turtle Cannons, Kurzick's Vengeance of the Gods(Fort Aspen), Kournan's Garison and Sorrow's Furnace(Robots and Machines)? Anyone?
I guess you people haven't heard of it =p!

I like it, but I'd drop the pistols. Pistols are way too modern.
Musket, I can see, but there should be something that would keep it from being better than a bow (which for incredibility's sake, should deal more damage).
Muskets were supposedly very inaccurate. On a battlefield, it was a mid-range weapon, not a long range weapon. The advantage was to not have to come in close combat with another opponent. To shoot far away, you might as well have been throwing lead pellets at them for all the good it did.
How about the musket being a very very slow shooter (fire half as fast) and having a half chance to miss. To compensate, take the average damage of a max-damage bow, multiply it by 4, and you *should* in theory deal damage on par with a ranger. The gunmanship would increase chance to hit and/or speed of firing.
Other skills would deal with having various effects when hit. The skills you listed are a little powerful, but the idea is there.
Ah, here it is. Rather than attacking twice as slow, make it so that you have to reload. You get two shots and then have to reload. The reload speed improves with gunmanship, and it wouldn't take up a skill space (you'd automatically reload after two shots).
You could do other skills that would allow you to shoot both at the same time for twice the damage, at the expense of having to reload immediately after (thus making it harder to spam damage).
Double Barrel Shot - (10 energy, 1 sec cast, 30 recharge) Musket shot. If both barrels are loaded and successfully complete shot activation, you deal +30-60 damage to player and that player is knocked down. You are then knocked down.

Thats all explosive stuff, the player mostly doesn't/can't use byself at will.
It r mostly only npc's, like the luxon turtles.
Kurzicks can't use this weapon at fort aspen ...the mission for the kurzicks is it, to repair it, while luxons want to destroy it... i cant remember, that there's a point in the game, where kurzicks use this weapon ...
those explosive stuff were in GW only ever tactical siege weapons, like catapults and those r the technology of the time age of around 1100-1400 ...
Muskets and rifles ect. came in the time age of 1600-1700, there those weapons were modern and thats the time age, games like granado espada r playing in. In this game u can play musketeers as class with their muskets ...
In my opinion, those weapons r for GW simple too futuristic. GW 1 plays in the time age of 1200-1300 around of our middle age, GW2 plays 100 years later, so the technology should be like as if GW would play in an middle age of the year 1400 around ... and thats the time, where crossbows were alot more common, then muskets. As said, don' let become GW please a Final fantasy Clone, where time ages r totally regardless ...

The Year in GW is 1072 AE, Now.
Gee, is that 1072 AC?
It's a Dfferent World not the Real World, Hello.
The game is not based in any timeline, If their was they would say based on the Dark Ages or Midevil Age.
Like in GE they say it's based in the Pioneer Age = p.
Then why in GW theirs none, except 1072 AE.
Is their an After Exodus in our History?

To me GW has no age. I mean, Istan looks antic, whereas Asura and Dwarfs' technology is really advanced, and the Echovald forest has a gothic architecture. It would fit GW2 very well (even though the system will probably be different, the concept is still here) : Humans learn parts of Asura's knowledge, and adapt them to their civilisation. They start getting their own style and create those muskets ; Asura are interested by them, as their ego can't help but want to make something even better. So they get their own muskets, which may have another name, as it's the Asura version, and some changes.

magna carta you are right that gw is not in any of our known time ages, although there are some starking similarities. however magna carta the muskets and other guns that you are talking about are too overpowered considered to a bow. in 1600 and during the english civil wars the bows were always more powerful than a musket, a) because of the reload time a musket could fire 3 times per minute while a bow could fire 13 times a minute, b) the accuracy of the bows were several times better than the muskets, c) a good bowman could kill many more people per 1/2 hour than a musket. also muskets didn't have 2 barrels, they only had one. Maybe this is the way that you can balance the bows and muskets: only have 1 type of gun, make the attack rate quite slow, make the damage high enough to balance with the slowness, make the musket so that it takes a second to set it up and take it down, anyway you probably dont want any more ideas from me so cya

Sword of the new world inspired musketeers and not even copied the skill headshot :/
imo musketeers own, and in gw they'd get way more skills to make em even better..
but it's just not proper time wise i think.., well asura's did have golems :|
I like the idea so far, but how are the guns rangewise? probaly shortbow range to make it more "real"

sorry magna carta, but i just studied the english civil war in england. it is true that muskets were very slow reloaders, they could fire once every 12 seconds. the bows were many times more efficient but bowmen took many years to train, so it was a sought of balance, any old fool could pull a trigger. I suggest a reload time of 3 seconds or more.

Why stick to a musket when you can create a whole new rifle type weapon INSPIRED BY a musket
Gives you a lot more options
