Officer Chat
I was just thinking that it would be nice to have an officer chat for a guild/alliance so that just the officers of the guild/alliance could talk to each other without having to all meet somewhere or get on one persons ventrilo/team speak (which may or may not accommodate everybody) because I know that it is annoying in my guild when I want to bring something up and all the officers are online and having to either pm them all, or put it in the guild chat when it shouldn't be there (discussing if a certain person should be kicked or discussing promotions or whatever) and the forum is either inconvenient, non-existent, or too slow.
Any comments and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

/signed. Most other games have this addition. I mean, if you're in a position of 'power' there are things that need to be organised that you would either like to keep as a surprise, or have nothing to do with the rest of the guild. This is definitely something I'd like to see implemented.

Alliance chat used to be just that ...unfortunately anet in their wisdom let the lower ranks speak too and in some alliances the leaders let them get away with anything and you get tards speaking, begging, insulting in alliance chat
We use Teamspeak for our meetings. Mainly as it takes ages to type discussion points.
before teamspeak we used to party up and go out to a mission somewhere and discuss things in team chat so it was private.
/signed ...to turn it back to what it was

Anet needs to revise the whole 'guild' concept. Customisable ranks, permission features, etc. Officer-only chat is a good idea.

I think having a guild officer chat or something like the guild chat would be nice. Like officers can chat together w/out members seeing. Would be nice. Some guilds do have forums for officers but even some officers don't like to check the guild forums all the time so I think this would be nice.

Officer elitism FTW!!!! /end sarcasm
On a serious note this would be rather helpful in discussing Alliance/guild matters pertinent to officers only. Much better then goingot a guild hall to take care of the buisness, and TS/vent is difficult sometimes.

Great idea, it would definitely let the leaders and officers talk without having annoying members spamming or talking about stupid things.

I'm an officer and I don't like much the idea of getting other members out of conversations, as if they won't count.
But that should be a choice of each guild.
Once GW:EN is out, a revamp of the guild system would be good... and this would be one of the points to consider.

How is it secret plotting?
We use our teamspeak in the same fashion to discuss loads of things we are bringing out as events, games, competitions etc. We have used it also to discuss what to do with a few troublesome members who were increasingly getting out of line in guild/alliance chat. We are by no means strict, but we dont allow begging and nasty name calling/swearing in our guild. Thats our rules...end of
So would you think it would be nice to discuss other players so everyone could see?
personally its up to each guild how they run, but i for one wouldnt expect leaders/officers to discuss my future in the guild openly with other guild members. Thats why they have been given those positions.
Same anology, Your teacher/boss (whatever) discusses your grades/pay rise (whatever ) openly with your colleagues?

Sorry but if you have to worry about "secret plotting" I'd suggest a new guild. How would this chat be any different then forming a party in the guild hall and talking in team chat? It wouldn't, it would just be more organized for officers and they wouldn't have to stop what they're doing just to talk to each other.
