Personally, I'd like to see them have a bit of fun with that, making a type of arena battle which has maps with lots of environmental effects. Of course, the map would be random, so you couldn't exactly count on a specific strategy.
Some examples of environmental effects might be:
Sandstorm - Players gain 50% faster run speed running with the wind. Players lose 50% run speed running against the wind. All players have -2 health degeneration and blindness.
Thunderstorm - Shouts and chants have half normal range. All players move 10% slower.
Fungus Spores - Spells are cast twice as slow and enchantments requiring upkeep require twice the energy. Players casting spells are easily interruptable.
Spiked Coral - While walking on spiked coral, your movement is reduced by 10% and you take 25 damage each second while moving.
Curse of the Bloodstone - Resurrection skills take four times as long to cast.
etc.
