Transfer of customised items
As stated here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10193556
It'd be nice to be able to restart a PvE character with the same name and have the same equipment from the previous character able to be worn/used/wielded by them. I know why this ability was removed in the betas, for good reason too. But it shouldn't have to apply to PvE characters, who can't make up perfect equipment on the fly.
Sure, it could be argued that it removes the goldsink aspect of the game, but everything else still has to be bought when restarting a character. You're not really making craploads of money enough to farm this way in the first place. Most people don't customise their weapons and can transfer them to anyone, but the people that do have thrown 10g into the sink for each weapon.
Personally, I'd propose any way to make this possible. Be it by having an NPC in towns to flag the items for free or a reasonably price to be transferred over to the newer character (with same name and class of course) via speaking to him again with the character or pulling it out of storage.
A dialog box of the NPC explaining how much it'd cost to store each item or all of them, depending. Accepting it provides a makeshift storage-like box the size of your inventory to place your weapons and armour into and a final fee extracted from you which could be something standard say like 1k to flag everything or 500g per item, calculated after you've put the items in.
Or perhaps a buying something like an ID kit from the NPC which you use to flag the items to be transferred over and you place them in storage afterwards to be picked up by your newly made character once they go through the daunting task of obtaining 50g to access storage. Possibly even skipping the whole process altogether and being able to transfer any time to a character with the same name and class via storage.
Discuss.

How about having customizations account based rather than character based.

Not huge on my list of things to do, but changing it to this would actually make make me consider customizing weapons. Well, except staves & wands.

How about 500gp +1 skill point to decustomize an item or to get an armor voucher from the guy you originally bought your armor from.

all unlocks are account based, the items and some of the titles should obviously follow the same way

The thing with customization is that it allows for a gradual remove from the game of the super rare items. Examples, uncontitional 15% weapons customized by Herbalizer and now thanks to the HoM, customized exclusive minis.
Thus it allows for "true" high end items to remain valuable, since every time one is customized it comes off the market.
Plus, yeah with the HoM now out, decustomization would mean you could add something to the HoM and then give it to a guidie or other character to get the item in the HoM.

What I'm talking about is not exactly decustomising anything. It's merely to allow customised items for a PvE character to be transferred and used over to another PvE character of the same name and class. The items are still removed from the market, but allow you to remake a character if needed.
