Age of GW:
Has anyone thought tht GW might make a pretty good strategy game? I know it's not possible, nor ever going to happen but he GW world would make a good place to set a RTS strategy game, like Warcraft became WoW except backwards.
The Armies:
Ascalons
Tengu
Charr
Deldrimmor
Centaurs
White Mantle
Orrian Undead
Sunspears
Kournan Military
Luxons
Kurzicks
Imperial Guard
Vabbian Armed Forces
Mursaat
Each civilisation would get different units that revolve around the current classes, except simplified. For example, Elementalists could would throw fireballs that do area damage and extra damage to buildings, Like artilery. Necromancers could build minions, like a portable barracks, when there are corpses around. Each race would have access to one 'mighty spell' like a god power in AoM. The Charr could get The Searing, Orrian Undead :Cataclysm, Kournans: deamonic corruption.
It's possible you could mod this on AoM if you ever got permission but it will never happen.
still an interesting point, what do you think?

I love the way that a game such as this has such a deep structure of lore, and networks interrelations exist even though its all entirely fictional, that it can spring off into new mediums so easily: art, stories, graphic novels, music, movies.
I think this would be an awesome idea.

This is similar to an old idea that was floating around sardelac in reference to renaming professions depending on which campaign you are from, but this idea is more specific. If you could provide examples I'm sure your thread wont stray off topic by trollers
Not a fan of god-powers though, I think traversing in the ideas that were produced from EotN could spark some revision in the previous campaigns.

I agree, the sheer amount of campaigns they can use how how each army tend to have different skill "sets".
I think anet could pull it off (and I would buy it / play it).

A GW RTS would be cool. I don't know if Anet would ever make one, they seem RPG focused, but a fan made freeware or game mod would be worth checking out.

When you say "strategy game" I take it you mean RTS (sad the way that terms been corrupted in modern gaming). Actually, the world (and to a degree even the skill system) would lend itself nicely to a fantasy 4x turn based strategy game along the lines of Heroes of Might and Magic, Age of Wonders, or the venerable Master of Magic.

IT would be great having control over armies of elementalsits...
Imagine being able to choose and create units with chosen 'builds'.

The way NPCs now say things when you click on them already makes me feel like I'm playing a RTS.

No, anyone can Mod Aom, you don't need permission, but to mod AoM into a GW game you'd need permission from Anet. Unfortunately to do this as a mod you would need to hack to the engine to get rid of the three civilization limit.

Actually, I think the current mechanics can make a decent CCG (collectible card game).
