Ignore List
There's a problem with it now that gets more frustrating for me all the time
The cap. You can only have (10?) or so people on it at any one time. So now whenever i need to ignore some 10 yr old idiot i have to remove another. Why would i want to do that? I want them on ignore, because i don't want them to talk to me. Why should i have to remove them so they flame me all over again?
It becomes a real problem when i have a disagreement with some guy, add him to ignore. He then either changes between 5 accounts so i have to ignore them all, or he'll get half his guild to flame me. How can i ignore all of that with this stupid cap? It means i have to go onto DnD, so i can't have conversation with friends.
My general questions are:
Is anyone else irritated by this?
What was anet's reason for capping the amount of people you can ignore?

10 might be little but its fine.
I've played the game for about 2 years and have never had any trouble with this.
If you consistently get into arguments with other players, then maybe your attitude is what needs changing.
Very very very few people have 5 accounts, so there is little chance that you'd need to ignore 5 accounts from the same person.
And if the player gets his entire guild to gang up on you, then you must have really said something offensive or you probably scammed the person.
Let alone you say this happens on a regular basis..
I know you're not going to listen to a word I say, but dude: lighten up.

I would screen shot and report via support harassment via user with multi/accounts or by his guild.
They have access to the chat logs and can see what happened and dish out punishment.

You say my attitude needs changing yet you judge me from a few paragraphs and assume i'm always in the wrong.

Actually a.net does. You just don't hear about it because the punishment is kept confidental. I'm quite confident a.net enforces temp bans on particularlly agressive/violent/bigoted behavior.
If the behavior or language isn't severe enough for a ban, then you shouldn't report/be mad about it. Somebody calling me a "noob" *shrug*. A guy who was in RA the other day ranting for 30 miniutes about the new update calling EVERYBODY else, well lots of rather pathetic words that I can't repeat here on these forums without getting banned myself. *screenshot and reported via NCsoft website*

I've played for two years and the only thing on my ignore list is "Don't use names on a forum", because he's a nub. My friends list is what gives me size problems, gogo bigger friends list!

This is an encouragement to players to avoid arguements. Think about how much BM {Bad Manners} would be flooding the servers if there wasn't a cap and they could just ignore whoever they wanted for as long as they wanted and not have to worry about revenge.

??? How would this be a bad thing? Debating and argueing are different.

They should add a temporary ignore lists that gets wiped when you leave an outposts.
Usually you don't need more than 10 ignores, but in outposts they may be more nuisances, that stop being a nuisance once you leave. An ignore lists that is not save, but only-client sided would work for that...

10 ignores is more than enough. If you need more take some previous people off, since chances are they forgot about you already. And if you need to have 10+ ignores over a short period, then you need to take a deep breath and stop getting into so many arguments with little kids.

@ all the /notsigned, how does such an update negatively affect you? It's not like one has to fill up the ignore list just because it's bigger. Ten isn't that large of an amount at all, and players should be able to add more names to the list without having to remove old ones.
Both Friend and ignore lists need to be bigger.

It's the same as with having 7 heroes- THEY don't want YOU to have something YOU want and wouldn't affect THEM in any way.

Unfortunately I don't think they should implement this... you would have MORE than one guy that would purposely try and piss you off, then they could put you on their giant ignore list. I don't think you need to be ignoring more than 10 people at a time. If your ignore list is full, remove a couple of the people on it and you can ignore ones that aren't constantly trying to contact you.
