Default solution for over-farming

Ok I've noticed that the price of ecto and shards and other rare materials has lowered extremely. This is not good for the game and the players who don't over farm, the people who over farm find ecto and other rare materials sell them to the trader then the prices drop thus ruining the in-game economy and the rewardingness of the game. The people who farm don't just take the fun from themselves but from everyone else buy making the game less rewarding. My solution is the traders can only hold a certain amount of the item, like only X amount of ecto can be in the material trader's possestion, and when there is that much then no more can be sold to them. This way the players who play to farm don't ruin the game for everyone else, and it may help stop the people who sell gold for dollars.

I know many people don't want the price of materials to rise but that would make the game more rewarding and fun to play. Think of it this way, who wants to play a game and just have points, or in this case gold, given to you, wheres the fun in that??!?!

It is already that way. The material traders can run out of an item, as can the dye traders. It just happens to be a very high number. When that number is reached, the material value hits its minimum (I think it's 30g for rare materials). If the number was not so high, it would actually severely drop the price of ecto as the price is calculated by how far away the trader is from being maxed out.

A-net has been out to deinflate prices for a long time, especially ectos. If you like high prices hold on for the ride as the economy is being set up for a massive crash. after the majority of players have there charecters in the armor they want to wear, dyed, and runed up, what are they going to do with those drops? spam for hours or dump them at the trader? Trader it is and the prices in general drop untill almost everthing in the game is near worthless except for the limited items, like the mini kanaxi's. 1 month before gw2 comes out it is gonna get really bad.

So you want me to have to sit and spam for hours to sell my rare materials when it takes about 30 seconds to sell them to a rare material trader for a fair price?

I'm not selling ectos I farm to players. I hate spamming the trade chat.

I don't play to farm. I farm to play. I take a little while farming so that I can pay for nice items.

Thats a big negative on that idea. I am glad prices are much lower than they used to be. Were you around in the beginning when ecto prices and such were just enormous?

Everything eventually drops in price, just takes a while. Especially with sapphires and rubies... they used to be 8k a piece when NF came out.

Most of us don't have fancy 55 farmers and we can't go get a million ectos or anything so many of us pray for farmers and reduced prices so we can get ourselves the ectos too.... though i have no need for ectos now, it's just an example.

Sort of the reason I sell all valuable items when I get them... I know that anything can be susceptible to drops in value but platinum is still platinum.
