New Armor Storage Idea
New Armor Storage Idea
I did not come up with the idea my brother came up with the idea but I though it was such a good idea I though I'd post it.
Why not make Armor take up one inventory spot?
Here's how it works the Armor will be one item that when you click on it, it opens a window with all the pieces in that new window you can change the pieces around like move out the head peace and/or change the head piece, add runes dyes and stuff.
They can even have a button that says equip that will equip the armor and auto remove your and put it in the window.
As for the one item the naming of the armor one item can ether be the name of the main type of armor like if you had mostly gladiator armor the item will be called gladiator armor or in the window that you can change the pieces there will be a text box that you can name the armor.
By making armor take up only 1 slot and not 5 this will help free up space make it easier to change armor and help players have more armors they can hold.

Praise be to that brother of yours. Such a simple idea, yet eluding to the mind.
Brilliant.

Why don't we just ask for infinite amount of storage, since apparently that's the only way people will stop asking for additional storage.

lol @ holymasamune - armour is a problem, not so much for pvp chars but for instance my main pve char has 4 sets of armour - thats 20 slots gone. plus what about all the 15K armours?? and the fact that theres the HoM for them.. where are they suppose to be stored?? its a good idea, i wouldnt mind losing 1 slot for a full set.

This would free up so much of my storage space. My main toon has 3 sets of armor and soon my Monk will have 2 sets and I'm thinking of making another set for my Ranger. I wonder why ANet didn't make armor storage when they increased the regular storage. *shrug*

/signed - but why not just store them in HoM? you can switch sets or pull out an extra to carry while you are there. same idea with weapons and pets would also be nice...

/signed... I made this character PvE for the express purpose of collecting armors, and there's going to be almost no room left when I'm done. Unless I make a mule.

Euhm and how do you equip the armor then?
Why not make one entry for weapon and offhand or wait...
Why not make one inventory entry for all your items

Yes!
Yes to this idea, very smart idea.
This should however be only allowed (if it hasn't been covered) if you own the ENTIRE armor set, with the exception of Head piece.
I would presume naturally once doubled click all four/five pieces would separate into your inventory then you may pick and choose which to wear? Thus placing the ones you don't want to wear back into inventory where they each take up 1 space.

Hm... maybe like the Incubator...
Hm... it could be 'armor stands' crafted at armor crafters... hm...
The main point is to make easier having all armors in a single character without having to discard them.
Why? This would be the greates gold sink EVER. And people would be able to change armors easily, and thus, there would be ore variability.
The only reason I have only one armor set is that I can't use characters as mules and have no place to store more sets.

Interesting. Sounds like it'd work and it'd be nice to see because having 3+ sets of armor is just lame to space

This would cause problems for poor people. I crafted my MM armor nearly a year ago and at the time I didn't have the money or materials to craft a whole set of the same type. So I have a Canthan chest piece, a Shing Jea scar(my hair hides it so I always get the cheapest head piece) and leg piece, Ascalon gloves, and Tyrian Bloodstained boots. I used to have Canthan MM boots but found out about Bloodstained boots(remember that this is before NF and long before insignia could be applied to foreign armor) and so I made a pair. I still use this armor set and even thought about crafting some Canthan armor so the whole set matches but the set is infused and is filled with memories.
