Necromancer's Well Spells
Just try my old with well spells today.which is not really easy to use.Even some of them have description say "exploit target corpse".Since guildwars targeting system don't support select corpses directly.
I suggest that those aggressive well spell should exploit corpse nearest to target foe which is same as what Putrid explosion do.

just let players choose which corpses to use, would be best, then well spells would be alot more useful and they would surely be used also alot more in pvp

Corpses exploited are generally closest to you. Putrid Explosion, I think, is the only one that is closest to target (foe/ally, whatever).

You can't target most corpses, so this wouldn't work.

It needs to be closest corpse to target like putrid. I hate it when I try to drop down that well that can cause cracked armor (i like it with minions), except it picks the wrong corpse and maybe only 1 mob is in it.

lots of such similar spells around the spell system for any AoE skills have imo to be iproved, there is even the old Ragnarok online a lot better in aoE spell system, then GW ...
When I use an AoE spell, regardless of which sort, i want to decide, where i want to set the aoE, before I spell it and not that it gets automatically spelled somewhere, where a foe stands in the moment, or where i stand in the moment, or in matter of time... to the spot, where the last enemy was killed ...
thats silly ..when I you a well spell, i want to decide, which corpse and want exactly use and only then, when I've decided me for a corpse, then gets the spell spoken.
Where is the problem, that when you use a well spell, that then all corpse in your near become clickable and to the one, that you click, the spell will be spoken.
same with elementalists spells, i use the meteorite shower, then apears a colored marker, that shows me the area in that MS hits in (a colored moveable magic circle) and when i double click then, the spell gets spoken to that place, where the magic circle was last.
The player can then exactly decide when and where to spell something and is not forced to spell something to a place, only because ur foe stands there.
This system would also allow spelling aoe spells, without having an enemy in your near, allowing the player to use AoE spells alot more tactically...
I hope, this gets really changed in GW2, its sad, that still exist much older MMO's, that show, that they have made certain things better, then Anet has done in GW1, but thats only my opinion

The choice of targetting in GW was specifically done in this way to ensure consistency and not favor low latency players.
Since GW2 will be abandoning the balanced gameplay, this may change.

Sometimes corpses stay selectable.
Why not just keep them ALWAYS selectable if you have a skill that can use corpses in your skillbar?

Ive personally never had a problem using wells. Always seems to work without targeting a spell
Usually on the nearest corpse to me

Yeah, the problem is not if they work or not.
The problem is when you want to exploit the corpse under the feet of one enemy, and you get exploited a corpse under yourself.

/signed for targetable corpses if it comes with a key bind for targeting them that is not the same one as for enemies. I have enough problems tabbing through spiritways spirits as it is...

Indeed. It's good for defensive wells like Blood, not so good for offensive ones.

It can sometimes be a bit annoying when a well pops 10 yards away from you, when you have casted it with a fresh corpse right next to you.
Ability to target corpses would fix this for both offensive and defensive well spells.
