One that I would like to see is the ability to make characters of all professions available to be made in all campaigns. For instance, you'd be able to make a Ritualist in Prophecies, a Dervish in Factions, an Assassin in Nightfall. Just for a weekend. I'd be willing to buy a few new character slots to be able to make a rit or dervish in presearing.
The only problem with this idea would be the fact that there's no trainers in the games that these professions are not native to. Probably a bit too much work to put in for a weekend event to add skill quests for each profession as well.

Bah, a couple of PvP oreinted weekends in a row and people get ticked. What about that double GW:EN allegiance weekend that just happened? That is totally PvE and in fact doesn't even help those who don't have GW:EN. Don't be spoiled. The PvE and PvP events are about 50/50.
Wolfwing, there IS a christmas event every year (Wintersday). But, you know, it has to be DURING Christmas. Got to wait until at least December. And we will have Halloween before that coming up in a couple of weeks.

Skill Balance weekend, every 2 weeks. That'd keep me glued to my screen.
At the moment, Guru > GW for sure.

Heh way to jump the gun ther Hawk..:> I was simply giving a suggestion FOR it.
As for PVP/PVE I would say thats not true. I've seen periods of 2-4 weeks in a row where it's all PVP and nothing really for PVE, of if it's PVE it's double for DOA or something thats rather limited.

Well, we'll have another double something next week, followed by a halloween one. It'd be nice if Anet moved away from the reduced grind ideas (because they aren't fixing the real problems of the game) and do some things that are more fun oriented.
1. How about a random shout weekend where in PvE, every time someone uses a skill, a random shout will happen. It could be anything currently in the game or some new effects just for the weekend.
2. A while ago, I suggested a siege devourer vs NF wurm PvP arena weekend... That'd be fun.
3. New boss weekend... Add a few bosses that last just for a week-end and maybe give them greens that can only be farmed in that time.
4. Ecto-drop weekend, where every mob has a 3% chance of dropping several ectos when you kill it.
5. Pre-portal weekend. Add an alternate reality area of pre-searing ascalon where the searing never occured. It'd be level 20 or so and after the weekend, it'd be possible to return there whenever you want... and at a portal from all the chapters.
6. Elite weekend; where in both PvP and PvE everyone is given a bar of 8 preset elites based on primary and sub class (maybe 5 from primary 2 from sub and a res).
7. Guarenteed gold weekend, where all treasure chests opened with a lock pick will give you a gold item or an elite tome, gaurenteed.
8. Green vendor weekend... a merchant appears in each town selling all non-endgame and non-elite area greens. All greens are sold for 5k.
9. Emperor's clothing weekend: all armor is invisible.
10. Death by bunny weekend: all mobs including end-game bosses look like bunnies for a weekend.
11. Gwen's revenge weekend... in all HM zones child gwen will come back as a boss-like mob with multiple elites on her bar and travel in packs of 10 (one of each class). For example the el version might have mind blast, SF, SH, mist form, invoke lightning, and sandstorm. Killing all ten of the gwens will be required for vanqing the zone, but they'd drop a Green Flute specced for that gwen's respective class as a random drop.

GvG weekend is pretty limited too. So is AB/FA double faction weekend. Both eliminate casual RAers from the picture.

Off-topic: Thanks ANet for the double Eye of the North reputation weekend. I really needed that for my titles.
On-topic: As PvE player I feel no need for more PvP weekends, I guess the best thing is to keep them balanced as they are now. A PvE weekend one week, a PvP weekend the other week.

And I remember several periods where it was 2-4 weeks in a row of PvE only weekends.
Get over it.

Of course since NF came out Oct 26th last year there will be a few birthday gifts comng to many very soon now.
3 for me and don't mind what they are.
And halloween to follow whoopee I look forward to seeing the mad king in gwen "hopefully"
Would love to see the charr norn and asura versions of halloween.
Would be nice if some events where hard mode only just for a laugh, like the idea of big bad bosses hard to kill.
Bet the gwen game has released a few from underground.
