How about wigs?
If we're not going to get a stylist anytime soon, what about a wig NPC? It *seems* like a wig would be just like most other hats out there - it replaces the hair model and puts a new model in its place.
Not a perfect solution, but it would let you have a little variety and get around clipping some issues. Seems like you could even make them accept dyes… I didn't see anything on searching for the topic but it may have been buried in the pages and pages of stylist discussion.. |

I would hate that. That would require one item for each hair style of each gender...
