Map Outline Overlay and Highlight of Unexplored Area after 95%.
May we please please have a map outlined which the player can turn on and off like ctrl+H. This outline will overlays the Map so that it is easier to know which part of the map that the characters had not explored.
I have been looking for the remainder of my 3.2% of unexplored Tyria map for 5 months now, I have gone to all map many times, wall hug them during that duration to no avail. Please its driving me crazy. sometime you go to an area and realize that 0.1% is not explored, this type of minor detail is very hard to catch from looking at map already posted by players who have completed the task, I have downloaded them all, frankly one still can't see where the differences are with only 3.2% left. I dread the idea of having to check all the map one more time. Its suppose to be fun not a burden, which its going to become if I don't find the 3.2% soon.
Or another better thing is a special "highlight" for player who have reach 95% or map explored, the remaining unexplored 5% will be highlighted for you.
The last options is when you've reach 95% you automatically get 100% this would be best.
Thank you very much.

I like this idea as well, after having beat all 3 campaigns I still have between 3 and 10% still unexplored and can't find remaing areas for the life of me.

/unsigned - but would sign a similar idea.
Right now I have GMC on Cantha, and 99.4% Elona, 98.8% Tyria. I know the frustrations well. However, what you are asking for is a MAJOR addition to the game. Once which would take considerable time and money to do. A similar and easier method might be:
Post a percentage explored next to each explorable area's name. This way, if you get to 99.9% and need to know where the last 0.1% is at, you can look at your map. The name of the explorable zone would say:
Kessex Peak (99.9%) while other areas would say things like Pockmark Flats (100%). Although you don't know WHERE in Kessex Peak you are missing a part, you know which zone to scour again.

I would love it to say if a area was completely explored, so you know where to go

I actually like the idea underlined over the OPs proposal, so, I would have to forfeit my original signing and sign to this proposal.

I think your idea is better, an icon saying that the area is 100% explored.

Yeah right, now, let me ask you, how many Cantha, Tyria, Elona Legendary cartographer do you have? I have 3 characters that has them, because these character I started from after title were implemented, hence I know to explored all area in organized fashion and not have to go back to look for them, I am having trouble with characters that already exist back when TITLE were not implemented, and the map are not explored in organised fashion so ...

This isn't nearly as easy as it seems.
Case in point, I have a map of Elona that came with the collector's edition. Here is a scan of one part of the map. This map is actually the fully displayed version, even with areas that are absolutely inaccessible by any means in PvE. That's the real map the the game uses to calculate the %. Your % leeway is actually much larger because the system actually has tons of area that simply can't be mapped.
And here is my map, on a 100% completed character of the same area:
You'll notice some pretty clear differences here, especially on the northeast part, with the looping ravines. Now, if a difference function was implemented, those areas would be lit up, and you'd run a character there only to find nothing. Those areas simply can't be mapped, whatsoever.
In theory, they could fix the grid system so that these areas wouldn't be accounted, but that's a crapton of work that would only make some title easier to obtain. Even an individual percentage system wouldn't work, because then you have to define the leeway % on every area, and there are well over 40 in Prophecies.
Basically, it's not going to happen.

Besides it's hard to change this in the game, there is also no real need for it.
First of all, when done right, you walk in an area, totally explore it and then leave it. That's just a matter of hugging the walls, keeping track of where you have been and making sure you hit every spot (don't forget the center).
Don't enter an area you can't fully explore in time, when you still want to do this keep very good track of progress.
You just have to start exploring (thorough) early, something many people fail to do!
Second, it's not that hard to compare a 100% map to your map. 100% maps can be found here on guru.
Thirth, people help comparing maps on guru: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3021985 (Tyrian maps)
Fourth: For Tyria there is a thread with frequently missed spots (it's mine): http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10160387
I know a similar thread excists for Cantha.
I know getting GMC is hard, but with the available community resources, there is no need for any ingame feature that makes things easier.
After all, it's 'your' mistake you underestimated the need for thorough exploration.

ya just being mean.
Grand Master Carthographer I already have, I want Legendary :P beside please read the thread before spamming with your cloudy map. I've said I downloaded all possible maps, wall hugs all maps many many times, and if you read the thread you'll also know my problem isn't with a newly created character after the title was implemented, its a character, my first character in fact that has problem with the map, because its 0.1% scattered all over Tyria. to tell the truth I do not just wall hug, I would kill everything on the map no-prisoners! criss cross the map up and down back and forth north and south, east and west, so do not tell me I am not thorough.

/signed for some kind of way to show what we have missed (other than what % is left unexplored total).
I for one am not capable of looking at 2 maps side by side or flipping them back and forth to see the difference, I am partially blind and I dont have depth perception so it makes things that much more difficult. My eye sight impedes me from finding that last .6% with any kind of speed, acuracy etc.....and because of this I dont DESERVE a title????? I have put in my time hugging walls so much that even the henchies dont want to play with me anymore! (oh great here comes that wall hugging monk....do we have to kiss every wall in elonia now too????).
I just plug away a bit at a time, though I would really like to know where I am missing that last bit instead of redoing all 33 explorable areas of cantha plus 13 missions etc.....even just which area would be a great help for me!
