Alliance Idea: Alliance/guild ban list
I looked thru the sticky and didn't see this...
Unfortunately, we as officers and guild leaders sometimes must remove an occasional "bad apple" from our guild or alliance. Currently, there are no measures to stop another guild officer or another guild in our alliance from accidentally re-inviting this "bad apple". Thus, I introduce a ban list.
It is availible for all members to view in the Guild hall- a graphic interface that one clicks on, and a list appears in a window for viewing of all members that a Guild leader has banned from re-joining a guild. Note, I said a GUILD LEADER- only the GL should have the authority to add names to this list, and only the GL should be able to remove names. Officers may retain their abilities to kick members, but must submit names to the GL for ban list consideration.
This list should appear in each Guild Hall, and should have a seperate "page" for each Guild in the Alliance; this way, a leader from guild AAA does not have to travel to Guild Halls for BBB, CCC, etc. They can simply flip pages to check if guild BBB already banned this member from joining.
There should also be a brief statement about what lead to this person's dismissal/banning.
Thoughts?

Good idea to stop bad people from joining guilds...just simply add a name and poof they can not join the guild ever again.

This is a great idea. There has been some incidents in the alliance with people that come in, stir up trouble in the alliance chat and leave. Unless everyone in the alliance adds that person to their ignore list, its possible that person could come back. This would be a good easy way to make sure that person doesnt get back in.

There are always those bad apples. Of course, if a leader/officer chooses to reinvite somebody dispite being on the ignore list, they can. Otherwise, a guild officer can just get rid of somebody they don't like and keep him out of the alliance.

/signed, sounds good.
- When a name is submitted to the ban list, also allow the GL doing that to include a bit of text (maybe 250 characters max) to describe why they have been placed on the list. This should also include the name of the leader that banned them for guilds where the leader is changed for whatever reason.
- When an attempt is made to invite someone on that guilds ban list, it will fail with the message they are banned.
- When an attempt is made to invite a banned person into another guilds membership, they are given a warning about the ban existing with its descriptive text. Maybe only let guild leaders invite people on other guilds ban lists.
- If someone is currently banned then any entry on the guild history mentioning them will be colored differently. Hovering over the entry will list which guilds have banned them, check their list for the reason text.
- If your the leader of a guild then if another guild in the alliance invites, kicks, promotes or demotes that person you should be informed.

Nice, that wat they could not create another character, fake being a newbie and deceive your officer to let them join again.

It seemed to work well when I played Call of Duty- we added a list to our "Clan" (i.e. guild) website, but it was a hassle to go and review the list in the middle of a match... it was a lot easier to change your name there, too... I love the ideas everyone has added- honestly, I wasn't expecting this much support. I'm glad the idea caught quickly- thnaks!
