to first it off, im not a 'never satisfying' player.
I never complained a bit about GW, even when millions of others complained about how gw:en sucked or w/e.
I bet none of u played the hardcore in diablo2
caz most of ppl who played it be4 knows how much it rules.
even if it was implemented I dont see why and how it would hurt the community anwyays,
if u dont like it u dont play it. but ofcourse anet has to be convinced that making this option is worth their time.
oh and with my idea you can't transfer character to this realm,
you have to start from scratch so those whos bored caz they have everything they wanted can get a fresh start, along with everybody else who also has to start from scratch.
and for those who thinks im the whiner whos never satisfied.. i enjoy GW daily and I never posted anythin against this game or anet, go look at my posts u'll find none.

This was suggested since beta, and right up until survivor was added.
The main appeal of this has always been for pvp, so that killing someone gives some people the real thrill.
In GW, it doesn't make any sense. Anyone can be killed real fast. You cannot grind up your gear or make other preparations.
There's survivor title track and /deaths. Use that, it does the same.

Battle.net is still running. Play that.

And how do you see this "high level" character in GW? After 3 months, you should know that level doesn't matter, that gear is normalized, and that you have a choice of builds.
Where would this thrill be?
Go for legendary survivor, but with a twist - level it up in PvP.

Some people also know how to spell. I suggest this becomes a feature. Try it - you might find it a challenge bigger than hardcore.

It would be funny though to see every group have 3 monks (at least one bonding the whole party) 2 paragons with SY!, TntF!, and ToF! up all the time, 2 obsidian flesh tanks and only 1 damage dealer, uber invincibility ftw! Of course everyone logs out immediately if one of the obs tanks takes more then 10% damage. Assassins may actually beat mesmer for least played class in hardcore mode.
/notsigned, we have survivor

The system worked in diablo where there is ladders and its 99.9% about PvE whole game. In GW it wouldn't work as in diablo, because it's so different game.
Don't still take it to yourself, half of the people posting on this topic doesn't realize what it was there and how good it was. But I agree with them there that it wouldn't work in GW, the game is too different.
Somewhat similar what you want is survivor title.
I will still /sign this idea, even tho it will never be implemented and I think it wouldn't even work =P

I think one thing the poster doesn't understand is that, in Diablo2, it's freakin crazy how quickly you can level. tristan runs, cow level runs, Baal runs (though most actually stop before killing Baal, they're just there to kill off his minions) you could get to max level within a day if you've got nothing better to do, maybe 2 days. So with so LITTLE time put into your character, of course nobody gives a shit if they die in some "SUPER-GOD-LEVEL THAT ONLY US 133T NERDS CAN USE, LAWLS." when they can just remake the exact same character within 2-3 days time AND complete most/all of the game's story line. GW takes a far greater amount of time to complete the story line(s), and in GW you can't have runeworded armors that give you the thorns aura, or the defence aura, etc. etc. on you, your henchie, etc. So you can't make one character into the ultimate "HOMG TANK I PWN" character. You actually have to relly on a team most of the time, and if just one person screws up, you're all screwed. (usualy.) So a "Hardcore lose your character" Game mode makes since in a Diablo2 type of game where you could so-freakin-easily remake that same character in just a few days time, but not in GuildWars.

OK
Survivor
Starter Armor
Hard Mode
you delete your char by yourself once you die. gogo, there you got your hardcore mode. also you may obviously not do it with any henchies and are forced to pug your way through for additional nightmares
..too hardcore? maybe without the pug part.

ok I guess some of u have the point, that d2 and GW is a bit too different.
also in diablo2 u can be godly by urself if u got the lvl and the items(except for near-end hell)
where GW nobody is godly and its really team-play based. And thats what makes GW a great game afterall.. caz every1's at same lvl20 and if u wanna differ and stand out u gotta be really good.
I still think it'd be fun though, but I knew I was jus dreamin anyways

The problem here being that it is a LOT easier to die in GW than it is in Diablo. This would be pointless, people might go in by mistake and die, be taken in by someone who wanted to without their knowing and die... And even those who volunteered would be pretty annoyed when they failed. It would just mean a lot of stress and irritation.

It's the idea and it's a fact that that type of players is never satisfied.
When this is idea is made reality over 2 month they have a way to own that mode and ask a Uber hardcore mode.

It's true. Hardcore gamers are called hardcore for a reason. Because their hunger for more difficult challenges cannot be sated... And once you're done with whatever you've just finished... You'll seek out something else that's more powerful. It's just like being addicted to a drug.

'Hardcore' do not fit the 'no irreversible consecuence' GW policy.
You abandon a quest, you can take it later.
You fail a quest, you may retry it later.
You choose a secondary profession, you may change it later.
You increase an attribute, you may change attributes later.
Conclusive things do not fit GW.
If you don't like a game where you can't die... then you don't play that game.
On top of that, a lag hit is nough to help a bunch of level 10 creatures to wipe a 8 level 20 player party.

true true but this kind of play doesn't add content to the game.
Just like hard mode it isn't new content it a mode that makes existing content harder and unpleasant to play.
I'm just a big fan of some good added content haven't seen it since Nightfall (DoA)
Sorry that my reply is offtopic but it's just something on my mind.

to tell you the truth, I just loved the 'hardcore mode' in diablo2.. and this might be stealing idea or w/e but I think it would be great if GW has them too.
the 'hardcore mode' deal is this.. your character dies once, your character is gone forever.(or accessible as ghost or something but can not go out of outposts)
This might sound retarded to some of you, but once you beat the game, once you already achieved the titles and armors u wanted, you have to admit the game becomes a bit boring
and you will seek some thrill and true challenge.
If they open up a seperate server this way, it could be a new fresh start for everybody,
plus items will have lot more value and it will be pretty interesting.
They should also implement some ranking system that ranks the people in the highest level(or highest exp. gained after lv20) and whoever lost their character with a death, their name still remains in the ranking but with a death mark or something until someone passes their rank.
I know this is pretty much like how diablo2 hardcore mode is.. but I really loved playing diablo2 this way.. by far it was the best thrilling experience in my whole gaming life,
you almost wanna hit some1 in the head when you die and lose your hard worked character, but nothing makes u feel more pro than having a high lvl character in a hardcore mode and its the best thrill/challenge you will ever encounter.
I know it won't happen.. but Im just dreaming about it.. maybe if lot of you agrees with me,
maybe, maybe.

Sounds like you need to make a legendary survivor by playing the game and not some cheap gimicking.
