Hardcore mode..
Hi, I've played GW for about 3months now.
Ive played so many online games and I think this game pretty fun,
but I find it a bit 'not thrilling enough'.
to tell you the truth, I just loved the 'hardcore mode' in diablo2.. and this might be stealing idea or w/e but I think it would be great if GW has them too.
the 'hardcore mode' deal is this.. your character dies once, your character is gone forever.(or accessible as ghost or something but can not go out of outposts)
This might sound retarded to some of you, but once you beat the game, once you already achieved the titles and armors u wanted, you have to admit the game becomes a bit boring
and you will seek some thrill and true challenge.
If they open up a seperate server this way, it could be a new fresh start for everybody,
plus items will have lot more value and it will be pretty interesting.
They should also implement some ranking system that ranks the people in the highest level(or highest exp. gained after lv20) and whoever lost their character with a death, their name still remains in the ranking but with a death mark or something until someone passes their rank.
I know this is pretty much like how diablo2 hardcore mode is.. but I really loved playing diablo2 this way.. by far it was the best thrilling experience in my whole gaming life,
you almost wanna hit some1 in the head when you die and lose your hard worked character, but nothing makes u feel more pro than having a high lvl character in a hardcore mode and its the best thrill/challenge you will ever encounter.
I know it won't happen.. but Im just dreaming about it.. maybe if lot of you agrees with me,
maybe, maybe.

This is a bad idea imo. Why would we want to lose our high end characters that we have spent 1000+ hours building up just because we died once? No thanks.

The closest thing Guild Wars has to this concept is Legendary Survivor. The difference is, if you die, you just have a regular toon.

I would hurt myself if this was implemented.
It would be like an enforced survivor mode.

This is GW not diablo2 what you dream of is rubbish.
The Screaming so called power gamers hardcore gamers already whined so much they got hard mode.
This idea is just bad why would all games be build on the milestone of a power gamer.
Flame me kill me shoot me but IMO Power gamer hardcore gamer ideas are rubbish there needs just can't be satisfied they always want more after this you demand a mode that is just 1HK from mobs.
so /NOT SIGNT

none of you actually read what he posted... it would be optional and there would be rankings, if you dont want to try then you dont have to. it might even enable the possibility of another character slot.
Note sparda posted while i was righting this way to comment on what he actually posted.

yes i read it i do not care if it's optional or a different server with a fresh start.
It's the idea and it's a fact that that type of players is never satisfied.
When this is idea is made reality over 2 month they have a way to own that mode and ask a Uber hardcore mode.

Hmmm ... EVE Online ... you get your ship shot out from under you, it is gone! Your cargo too. And if they kill your escape pod, you are gone too, permanent dead! You come back into the game as a clone, get some insurance money (not enough), and have to put together a new ship from scratch. You do this once ... twice ... it gets old.

Why is this here? Shouldn't it be in the suggestions forum?
Also your idea doesn't sound like "fun"... it sounds like stress.

LOL, What I thought too. Yeah, would be great to take my warrior out and die and have wasted the more than 3,000 hours played on him alone. Now that is FUN! Only played for 3 months and that bored already? Think that is a definite sign Anet has dumbed the game down to the point of it not being worth playing if he has done all that is worth doing in 3 months.

You want thrills: play in traffic. Guild Wars is not an extreme sport.

Why do you need the game to enforce this? Why don't you just set yourself the challenge of playing through without dying, and deleting your character if you die?
Seems daft implementing something that happens automatically when you can just do it yourself.

We all know this to be true. A week into Hardcore Mode Anet will be demeed to be "catering too much for the casual player" and "can't they make a harder mode". And so the cycle continues.
I agree with RTS, it's a suggestion, and should be in Sardelac.

Well i certainly would not move any of my charcters to usign amode like that.
And while i may be interested in creating one to go through it, i would certaily be bored silly after a few deaths and having a useless character slot, where if i keep the character i cant use them for anythign other than storage, or i have to delete them and restart, thereby losing the opportunity of a lovely minipet.
