buy previous festival hats
the reason i'm suggesting this is there are many old masks that many of our newer players won't have. for example the freezie crown , christmas hat etc . you should be able to buy these items from the festival hats person for a certain price of something like 1-2k . this would ensure everyone would get all the hats in GW and has the oppuntunity to
any feedback? :P

I dunno, some like the Tengu mask were meant to be special treats for people who preordered Factions.
If something like this was done, I'd like to see this crafter as an elite armor crafter and offer hats that have the right AL for your class.

An event hat shows you were actually there for that specific event when it took place. I say 'no' to this suggestion.

No No No, a thousand times no. Event hats are ONLY for those that where present for the event. That is why the gave a diffrent hat for Halloween 2006 then they did for Halloween 2005. If you were not present at an event, either not on GW yet or just not on that day, then you miss out.

Just because of the elitist attitude("I was there and you weren't so you don't deserve this and that") I'd like to see this idea done. I'm sure they'll make everything available anyways when GW2 comes along. If so they should do the same for the Divine Aura.

it's sad that I ran out of room before we had hat makers and more storage. I trashed all of my old hats, never to be returned.

Sorry, but I have to say no as well. Personally, I missed all of the 2005 hats, but that's just what makes them special, not everyone can get them. Call that elitest if you must. But if everyone were able to get them, they would just become pretty boring, instead of special presents for those who attended the festivals.

I've been around since Factions but I've either chosen not to participate in many events, or simply couldn't because the timing was wrong. Despite only having a very small collection of festival hats (2), I'll have to say no to this suggestion. Those hats are meant as a special treat to those that were there.

what elitist attitude? their are special things that req you to participate like the events so if you did not participate why should you get the option to recieve a hat??? I did not play during 2005 and do not care that I can not get the old hats, they are hats you will never use and most people dont give a damn about them anymore they just take up invintory space.
for the Divine Aura WOW that is a special emote for the CE of proph which means if you want it go buy the CE other than that why should they let everyone have this, considering the people who spent the money to buy the CE.

Festival hats are a symbol that you were at the event, and hopefully had some fun. It doesn't seem fair to me that a person who may be new can get hats from the first festivals. Heck, I've had the game a lil over two years, missed some festivals but I still didn't sign. Just like a title, you gotta earn it.

I've been around since release of Guild Wars. My first festival hat was the Demon mask from this year's Dragon Festival. Not even the first one...I didn't get factions until after that so I got mine from the repeat event.
I wouldn't mind being able to access the previous year's hats...or something similar. But I understand the meaning behind it...if you weren't there, couldn't attend, chose not to attend...then that's on you.
I was actually at halloween 2005...but I didn't stick around long enough to get the pumpkin hat...didn't know they were being given out and I wasn't really into the game that much at the time.
So.../notsigned.

Let me start out by saying that I purchased the Prophecies CE the day of release, so I have the aura, all the hats, blah blah blah.
I honestly don't care at all if other people have them too. I really like the idea of making them craftable with AL corresponding to your profession. If players are willing to spend 15k for festival headgear, great. It's a gold sink that people will actually use.
After all, minipets too were intended for "the old guys." Look what happened to that market...they became available to anyone with enough gold.

as far as getting the hats i say no why because im new to the game an people are right when they say you have to be there to get one but on the other hand not everyone can be there when this happens why maybe work or had something inportant to be somewhere but why if thats the case should people be in away punished for not being able to get a hat if anything there should be a nockoff of the hats but have no inportance or meaning as for the real hats for when u was there

The only way I can see this appening is:
You can only buy a festival hat for festival after your account was created.
If I made a new account now, I could buy no hat of the old hat.
If I made an account back in the day, between Haloween 2006 and chrismas 2006, I'd be able to buy the hat from Chrismas 2006 and there on.
Only if this is put on I'l signe
Otherwise /unsigned

Why get a prize if you weren't there? Spending 30 minutes listening to Mad King Thorns HORRIBLE jokes should give a reward that others shouldn't get that didn't spend the time.

i was there for the day of the tengu and the first halloween festival, but i don't have the masks from then. kept missing the tengu mask giveaways and since the first halloween was the first hat holiday, so to speak, i didn't think much of it and didn't bother getting one.
hats are supposed to show that you were there and partook(?) in the festivities. i'm not all butt-hurt about not getting those 2 masks, but it's nice when people ask how i got my dragon mask from the first dragon festival. i'm not being elitist when i say that, but it's fun to explain to people that weren't there what happened and such.
i think if you didn't get a hat, oh well. it's nice enough that you don't have to take every single character to the festivals now, just make a copy at the hatmaker!

Darn it, I want a witches hat!!
/signed - Though, it would be nice if they would just make it so we can show the festival hat maker anyones hat. Those of us with friends who attended the earlier festivals can let us 'borrow' their collection.

I'm gonna say agree on doing this... If your like me (partially stupid) and put everything from 2005 halloween onto a PVP char and delete him... Then you'd understand my predicament. Yes i know my fault deal with it... Well I have dealt with it, but If I got those all back i'd be so stoked.
