Default Give promotion points for Glint's Challenge using a new book!

I really enjoy playing Glint's Challenge, which I was really suprised at because I dont usually like those kind of things.

But I find the end result isnt that rewarding. I have my destroyer gaunlets now and all my GWEN heroes have brotherhood armor.

Perhaps reward us promotion points too?

But it wouldnt be that simple. To do this, add a 3rd drop item to the end chest for completeing Glint's challenge.

"Glint's manuscript"or something.

You can then trade that in to either the Drawf, Norn, Asura or Vanguard NPC for promotion points in a similar fashion to a handbook or dungeon guide.

It would be 10k points max in NM, and 15k max in HM or alike! I say low values because if the reward was higher then it wouldnt give much incentive to replay because you would max the ranks too easily.

The value for NM and HM promotion points also vary depending on how many points you earn for the challenge. The same way the gold reward does! So now you have another incentive to earn more points in Glint's challenge too.

Obviously those values are debateable! Increase them or decrease them how you feel!

I suggest rewarding varied promotion points which you can choose, instead of just Drawf, to add to the replay value! Plus we dont all want drawf maxed. Some of us want others for pve only skills.

I cant see a reason not do do this, because you cant get access to Glint's challenge until you get to the last outpost. And oddly enough some people there are still very low ranks in those titles, so they obviously need help.

10k is a LOT, especially since it's not extremely hard to complete.

I agree it is a little dissapointing when you open that chest. I enjoy the challenge and that is a reward in itself, but those cloths of the brotherhood are starting to stack up.

I'd be cool with something like this, but like Bankai said 10k/15k is quite a lot. I'd suggest 500 nm, 1000 hm.

Well like I said, the points are debateble and keep in mind they vary depending on the points you earn.

/signed. I think this idea is very sensible and gives players a reward to keep doing the challenge. They could possibly introduce this to other challenges aswell to earn ss and lb points.

So the issue here is that you've found an easily farmable mission which you've been farming the snot out of, and want the rewards to be bigger and more far-reaching?

/signed and ~the rat~ has the right idea on the point reward. maybe only get the ammount of points=to the amount of gold you get.

Ok let me get some perspective on your concerns here...

...you dont like the idea of Glint's challenge freely giving your promotion points, to which you can choose to dedicate to a certain race?

Yet (and this is an assumption) I doubt you mind when Glint's challenge gives you a free destroyer core and brotherhood scroll at the end!

Unless your going to tell me otherwise and say you have major issues about Glint giving us all a free core and hero armor? I doubt that because I expect you use cores to make either gloves or gold like the rest of us. I also suspect you like giving you heroes elite armor for HOM like everyone else.

Do you have an issue with the snowman dungeon and using that to farm drawf points and xmas goodies easily? I doubt that, because I suspect you either have or will use it yourself.

Explain to me what the problem is with earning promotion points from glint's challenge. Explain to me how that is any worse then the snowman dungeon or being given a free core and hero armor!

Everyone complains that getting promotion points is tedious and grind and boring and for most races it is. The drawf one being the only exception due the snowman killing. So whats the harm in having a fun, repeatable challenge to help max the other titles?

If the promotion point reward is low (like rat suggested) then it would still take quite a few runs to do it. It beats farming snowmen or taking bounties or repeating boring quests and dungeons.

Plus concider there are 4 rep titles to max, so that adds to the number of runs too! Yes its easy, but its fun! Im not asking for title values to be reduced, or to make anything account based.

Im actually asking for some realistic which would make everyone happy! This wouldnt turn anything on its head or change anything else ingame. It would simply change glints challenge and nothing else.

And tbh, most people in the central chamber are very low level Drawfs so we obviously need this! People are obviously having trouble (although I dont understand how) earning these rep points. I'm usually the highest ranking drawf in most teams I join and that a sure sign that it needs to be made more accessible.

i wouldn't mind if it was proportional to a dungeon lenght,
as in if the average dungeon took an hour adn you got 1500 points in NM, give an equal (rounded) ratio to the challange)

depends how hard/easy it is too
i've never palyed it fully so can't really ocmment on that bit

Glint's challenge isnt that hard to understand;

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Glint%2..._%28Mission%29

Basically you enter a very small fighting area which has a similar look to where Glint lives in to desert. You have a baby dragon near the back to protect and several drawf NPCs helping you fight.

The dragon must stay alive and for each drawf who survives you get more points. There are 6 waves of enemies, all getting more powerfull (although the 2nd wave is the hardest). The come from 2 sides.

Usually people will tell you to either be on the left or right in teams of 4!

If you kill the first 5 waves and kill the 4 bosses during the 6th wave, a chest apears and gives you on core and on brotherhood thing.

You also get a certain amount of gold depending on your core. You get more points for killing faster.

What im suggesting is to add a 3rd drop to the chest in the form of a book, and depending on your score you get a certain amount of promotion points in the form of a book to exchange to a certain race.

That place takes 20 minutes to complete. Perhaps a minute more.

In line with that, the reward for that could be 500 points *tops*. But, since it's repeatable and so predictable, the reward could be 100-200 points to be in line with other rewards.

And, as it turns out, you already get delver points, but you need to do HM after you're past r8. So it seems the reward is already balanced.

I agree that Glint's Challenge should have something else besides the standard hero armor reward.

Although I wouldn't go for the giving-points approach.

A "Glint's manuscript" could have other tradable options besides *just* hero armor, similar to what happens with high-end Collectors.

For example, 1 manuscript could be tradable for a brotherhood of the cloth; 2 for a grail of might; and 3 for a safe passage to the underworld. Among other possibilities...

Yeah, that's a good argument - because I don't oppose ALL end rewards, I must be in favor of a huge, massive, game-breaking, reward.

A free destroyer core & brotherhood scroll is nothing compared to your suggested 10K fame-point spend-where-you-want journal.
