Guild Wars 2 Ideas, and possible Concepts
Untill Guru makes a forum for Guild Wars 2 discussion and ideas, i feel i have a right that i dont have to use the sticky at the top of the page, because none of the stuff will get heard or seen. its just cramed. So here it is:
Guild Wars 2 Ideas:
Player Controled Calander/Timeline:
I think a cool idea to be put in is a Player Controled Calander where we can put our achievements as a world down in history, For example:
Say the world slayed a monster that was really powerful, and near impossible to defeat, ANET would put down on the calander, "Tyrians vanquished the mighty Beast of the Depths"
Something like that, so we actually progress the game through the years, not the years randomly pass through xpac.
Mounts
As a persistant game, I think that Guild Wars 2 will get a huge funness boost if we are able to train or buy mounts, Mounts of course make you run faster.
Everywhere is persistant (except dungeons)
Anywhere we go, anywhere we travel, no waiting times. Dont have half instanced, half persistant. Have it all persistant, with the exception of instanced dungeons.
Also make the whole map explorable. Nothing left out.
Organisations
Organisations, are like a massive guild, except multiple guilds work for them. The organisations are NPC controlled, and have there own goals, people, leaders, bosses, home town, base .etc.
Guilds can join these organisations and work for them, they dont necessarily have to be friendly to the other guilds in the organisation, but must contribute to the organisation.
Benefits of being in an organisation is, Guild money, extra NPC's traveling with Guildies or in GvGs, Guild Hall option (must be in an organisation to be able to purcase one of the guild halls that belong to the organisation) Materials, secret base or safe area for you and your guild, special quests .etc.
Guild leaders can allign themselves to an organisation.

wow, absolutely /unsigned on organizations. Way too complicated, and who the hell wants to work for an NPC? I might change my mind if you told me what the actual point was. Just saying you want it isn't enough. The benifits you've stated don't really seem to justify the amount of work it sounds like it would be. How would this actually contribute to the game?

I prefer instances to persistent, mounts are likely planned anyways, calender seems useless and hard to implement, and the organizations idea is just weird.

The more instanced areas there are the better imo. Im not looking for yet another MMO. I hope Anet realises they currently occupy a section of the market that only they are tapping right now. It would be a big waste to throw that away.

i like the idea of mounts then we wouldnt have to stop and kill monsters every 5 seconds or else there gonna keep chasing us.
i also hate instances they ruin the community and limit social oppurtunities.
but i dont support organizations the alliance system is already enough but it does need alot of changes though.

i personally like having instanced gameplay. it allows me to travel alone, and not always have to find a group. just allow it to be instanced, but have the zones be surrounded by a continuous gate, so you can enter any area around you from any point, as long as you can access it. Of course, some mountains and things should be unclimbable at certain spots, but mostly free-roaming. I know Anet wants ppl to start forming more groups, but it really sucks when you have to find a group and there is no one around to group with. GW is not WoW, stop trying to make it like it.

I love the idea of the player controlled calendar.
Mounts would be fun, but GW2 would have to be made a certain way for them to actually be useful. Personally, I prefer having easy to use map travel.
Everywhere is persistant... I don't know. One of the features I am looking forward to is the worldwide persistance so I can just go outside and meet up with my friends if I arrive late. However, there's also a part of me that likes there being instanced, private places.
Organizations sound like a neat idea. Though, as some have said, I'm not sure it would be that much fun to have it be run by an NPC.

I don't think anyone wants to see a full-persistent WoW clone.

Ok, you know how whenever you enter an explorable area in GW currently, it is an area created for you and your party ONLY? That is "Instanced"
Persistent is when (If you have ever played WoW or EQ or LOTRO, you'd know this) the entire world is available for all players to explore and do stuff at the same time, without the need for forming parties
