I'd just rather be able to place things where I want them. It would be just as easy (or hard) to implement as a lock feature and would make everyone happy.
And I'd still just like to have my HOM be account based. The likelyhood of having more than two 15k armour sets on any character is slim to none given the storage constraints, so no matter what, the hall always looks empty. It's too big for the amount that you are able to put in.

When I first heard about HOM that was sort of what I thought it be like, you have one part of it that would show statues of each of your chars that beat the various games, a display case to show off your items.
Oh and something else I was thinking of, considering that the item case is for Destroyer weapons only, how about being able to equip our statues with weapons and such..:> A chance to say, "Here is the weapon I beat all three campaigns with." or here is my favorite weapon I found.

Honestly, there are many, many things that still need to happen to the HoM before it can even be considered a "finished" product. I've been trying to get some info out of Gaile on her talk page for the last week or so, but it's looking like they won't put any more work into it. New ideas are always good, but at this point it's doubtful that they will touch it again.

That kind of sucks the account trophy room is kinda nice idea, especially for those that might not get GW2 be nice to have a place to show your accounts achievements.

I've been deeply bummed about the weapons in HoM...I suppose on the intellectual level, I understand--but I would like to display end-game or end-of-dungeon (Heck, even end-of-master's dungeon) greens in my HoM....for whatever good it might do in GW2.

If only the 'greatest' weapons may be shown as the HoM says ingame, then certainly Tormented Weapons should be placeable there as they are by far a more high end weapon set than Destroyer Weapons.
Destroyer Weapon: Worth around 100K.
Tormented Weapon: Not sure on price, but something around 700k? And lorewise, Tormented Weapons are much more high-end and rare.

My biggest beef with the HoM is actually the title monument. I wish I could either remove titles, or cycle through every possible combination instead of a dozen or less. I want to be able to display the titles I'm proudest of together!

Given how personalizing the HoM was hyped constantly as a selling point for EotN, I think a single button that cycles through a limited set of random combinations really doesn't live up to that great element we were told to expect. On one hand you could say it's not a big deal, but when I think of the devs being really enthusiastic about a feature that would let us immortalize our GW1 characters, it seems like a shame that a little detail like this would get in the way of exploring that part of the game to its fullest.
And not to mention, only being able to display Destroyer weapons... I know there are GW2 implications to think about, but this makes the weapons monument feel like a complete waste of time for most players. I'm still hopin' this is just temporary until they can implement more weapons being displayed.

the only people whining about this are the epeeners who wanted to show off.
it is a minor feature that will unlock a few nice cosmetic things in GW2
the top people have already stated that nothing unlocked will give any playing advantage over a new player which would be bad advertising if it did give any advantage.
it is a non functional little hole in the wall until GW2 is linked to it and has no effect on GW1 at all.
why the fuss?

It's a place to show off if only to yourself your achievements, there are quiet a few cool weapon skins that I wouldn't mind seeing next to each other, even if they don't give anything in GW2 I would still like to be able to display weapon skins that are actually nifty.

I like the HoM but it would be nicer if it were account based... And if you could choice your of catagories of the monuements... That way if I dont like collecting Minipets I could use that monuement to place super rare skin items instead...

again that was forum hype into the stratosphere

that i do not understand at all as the HOM has no repeat zero effect on how you play the game.
full or empty it has no effect on GW1 at all.
a full HOM will have no effect on GW2 beyond giving the GW2 character the GW2 equivalent of a tie dye t shirt saying i was at woodstock way back then.
there is no part of the game to explore in the HOM so i say truly no big deal.
i put mini pigs on a few characters but thats it and never went back except for cinemas

They definitely have to fix things in HoM, esp. the monument of honor so that we can arrange the titles properly which ever one we wanted to show. Fix this ANET!!!

Just so you know, I never read a single thing about this on the forums about this before GW:EN was released. I only made the basic assumptions anyone would make from reading Anet's own hype on the matter. Assumptions like: maybe the "weapons" monument would revolve around (get this hype) our weapons.
And as far as however small you think Anet intended this feature to be:
"Your own personalized Hall of Monuments to preserve your achievements, trophies, and titles across all Guild Wars games, allowing descendants to reap the benefits of your character's fame in Guild Wars 2."
There it is, listed among the 6 main gameplay features on their own site. It's always been there. Whenever talk came about the biggest things players could look forward to in playing GW:EN, guess who always mentioned the HoM. The game creators themselves.
You ask me "why all the fuss", when clearly my caring about this issue makes you come in here and fuss at least as much as I do. Your reasoning for this not being what it could be is that it's only the epeeners that it matters to. Which makes me laugh, because as far as a feature like HoM is concerned I don't see any other purpose THAN epeening. Why have fancy but hard-to-get weapons skins if we're not supposed to feel good about having them when they come our way? It's one of the fun parts of the game for some people, and clearly Anet was hoping to embrace that. As far as I can tell your only justification for it not being better is because you have a personal problem with it.
But this thread isn't for debate on epeen, and I guess we're all entitled to our opinions. If you want a smaller HoM experience for yourself to spite people you disagree with, that's your choice. As for me, this is just something I would like to see happen. I don't demand it of Anet, nor do I expect it out of them, I just think it would be one of those nice things they already do for us constantly if they did.

I wish someone from ANet could explain me what weapons my necro should put on her weapons monument.
11 Slots - and 11 types of weapons (+shield) ingame.
Or should I put staves and wands for various attributes there...
No idea...

i dont always agree with much of what you post but i think i can give some actually useful guesses.
since it is very early for them to have made any ideas on the unlock specifics (when X goes in GW1 it will unlock Y in GW2 if profession is Z) my best advice is to only put things in that you wont feel bad about it if something else has a better unlock in your opinion.
as they stated there is no cut off limit as when you can add something.
i am waiting until i have more information even if it means waiting until GW2 is out and you can see the results in screenies on wiki
