double xp for skill caps should have NEVER came up as it is the most retarded thing in the planet, if you are capping skills your are most likly over lvl 20 and have like 90 extra skill points double xp OMFG WOOT WOOT BACON WOOT.
and i like pvp focused events but yes i guess it could alternate or maybe have both, like double fame AND double ss/ll/GWEN race rep. then pvp wouldnt get clogged with pvers wanting fame and pves will have something they want.

Oh, I dunno, I kind of like the Double Exp for Skill Caps. Like the other events, its only actually useful if I wish to do skill caps that weekend, but it helps bring in more skill points for characters that might need them, as well as can be one avenue of choice for Survivors. Granted, I dont think Treya cares for all that many more skill points at the moment, but she would need some more still if I were to go for all skills known by her.
Anyway, even balance of PvP and PvE weekends is good. I wasnt sure what the record was, but wouldnt sign for more PvE events just for the sake of it, even though I mostly only play PvE. PvP players need theirs as well and many tracks are PvP oriented. We could use (at least I could) another Double Rep weekend, SS/LB grind weekend (much as I am loathe to do it) and a Factions/Allegiance weekend, but well, they'll come in due time.

It's good for Survivor title grinders.
I want the increased gold chance on chests to come back one of these days. It's a pointless, money-wasting event, but it makes the gambling a little bit more interesting.

Dual weekends would be best (like suggestions below)
PVP Maybe a win 5 in row makes some doe! 1K weekend stings attached of course
PVE Random weekend small percent chance to have any of the consumables from past events drop when killing foes. Shamrock ales / Birth Day Cake / Candy Canes / Witches Brew ETC,,,

Ok, here are some ideas for a PvE weekend
1. Double Boss Weekend:
Bosses drop double rewards and regular creatures drop double gold along with items. (a.k.a Farmer's Heaven)
2. Rare Item Weekend:
Chances of getting a rare item drop are doubled.
3. Cookie Weekend:
Foes drop cookies which can restore up to 20% maximum health. (lol)
4. PvE Weekend:
Chances of getting rare drops are doubled and any gold and items you get are doubled. (a.k.a Something farmer's in farmer's heaven dream about )

I agree. I say just make better reputation farmings. Green drops hurt the green economy and that always sucks. Double xp for capping elite skills... well.. I have them all capped, so that was a waste, and not too many people want to spend money on their survivor title, although the last double xp cap skills weekend I did help someone get legendary...
I'd prefer something useful for everyone that has factions, NF, and EotN, which is reputation for Luxon, Kurzick, Sunspear, LightBringer. Ebon Vanguard, Asura, Norn, and Dwarven, and whatever else I may have missed.
All these titles provide great skills, and we could really use them, not to mention they also make them better.

Eh, QQ more?
I remember when there wasn't a weekend event every other weekend. In fact, I remember when they did it the very first time. Everyone thought it was so cool. Now... people just bitch if the event isn't something they think is "good." Weekend events should be considered as GIFTS, not neccesities for the game to exist. Be glad a.net is bothering to code weekend events at all.

It's mainly PvE PvP PvE PvP etc. Sometimes PvP gets 2 weekends in a row. It's not like PvE barely gets anything. Stop complaining, be happy you even get weekend events.

Who is complaining? This IS the suggestion forum by the way...or maybe you didnt see that.
Also, click the link I posted, and count the weekends..it is weighted heavily towards PVP. Im just asking for a bit of....balance....which is what ANet does best.

I think theres a very good reason they have a slight bias towards PvP weekends than to PvE weekends.
Given that for PvP to occur, you need opponents, and with more opponents, you get faster matchups, more diverse opponents etc...
But, for most of the PvE titles, most ppl go at it on their lonesome, and it wouldn't really improve gameplay in anyway, other than to get your grind titles easier.

I did.
2006: 8 for pve , 8 for pvp
2007, so far: 17 for pve, 16 for pvp.
Seems to me the slight majority of them is for pve.

The stupidest ones are the AB and FA bonus events. I don't even do those anymore for it to affect me. Just take those out completely, even replace it by PvE if they want :P

Kind of selfish, yeah?
Anyway, AB ones are stupid because you end up waiting forever to get a match anyway.

AB events fall into the happy medium imo...the only downside is the ultra long waaaaaiting.

erhm, pve weekends are mostly the boring ones, like the double XP from missions and the double XP from skill caps and the green weekends (c'mon, most easily farmed greens are like 1-5k and hard to sell, why the hell you need more of them. all those weekends are next to useless and/or just plain boring (like the double faction/reputation bonuses, stays stupid mindless grind, eh?). Luckily the next weekend is a little fun

I must admit a few non event, event weekends would be nice. They start to lose their specialness after a while. If we had to have them every weekend I'd like a few more 'april fools' style ones. They are just fun.
