I say let them be until Wintersday, them when towns get decorated, move them somewhere else, and leave them there when the towns are brought back:

I think the best place in Lion's Arch would be in the Compass Rose in the middle of the Town, where the almost completely unused Crafters are.

Well, the appearance of the fountain area is subjective, so this is a point we will just disagree on.

like it should be.
However, I'm going to ask you to justify why you think they should be there instead of somewhere else. Especially since they cause one of the patroling NPC's to get stuck:

Actually I do have the BMP myself. But why should my motives be relevant to decide if this is a good idea or not ?

Especially since both of you do nothing to address my other point, which was that the NPC's in their current locations are going to piss off a lot of people who don't own the BMP.

This has been my complaint from the beginning as well.

The NPCs are occupying prime real estate and EVERYONE sees them. Players who dont know what the BMP is, or dont have it are basically being teased by them showing the weapons.

That really sucks.

Not to mention NPCs in LA get stuck and it just looks dumb.

justify? lol. I like them there. justification e'nuff?
as far as npcs getting stuck, are they late for dinner?...what does it matter? is the world perfect? if there truly was no clipping, they wouldn't hang.

If that's the problem, they should just change it so that people w/o access to the BMP can't see what the NPCs are offering...

Don't really know why they can in the first place.

i personally find their placement to be practical, as i have direct access to merchants, guild reg. xunlai and crafters etc.

however, i wouldnt mind it if they are moved to the crafters area.

I'd rather have my heros not hang on npcs at shrines, or give them the same reaction time to AoE that monsters have. but...this will get fixed first...lol

Meemo, they cause TWO NPCs to stick. I'd rather they move the NPCs over next to where you spawn after you complete a mission. Magi Malaquire needs more company anyway.

There is you liking them there, that doesn't need justifying.

Then there is you saying that they should be there, which does need justifying. And the stuck NPC's are a counterpoint to you saying that they should be there, because it shows that their current location causes a minor bug.

Yes the bug can be easily fixed by simply deleting the effected patrol, or by moving the collector NPC a few meters, but its still a bug caused by their current location.

So do you have any reason you want them to stay other than the fact you like them there ?

Depending on how the collectors are coded this might not be easily done. However the NF missions show that ANET can create an NPC who can move anyone who meets a condition into another map, while leaving the other players behind. So I was thinking about pulling up one of the closed outposts, moving the BMP NPC's there, then creating an NPC in each port town that moves the BMP people there while leaving other people behind.

While moving the NPC's to the crafter area of LA would satisfy me, it doesn't do anything about the collectors taunting people with weapons that they can't get.

Even though the other things you mention also rank higher for me, I don't see them happening first because this change is probably a much eaiser one for ANET to implement.

Merchants and crafters aren't much use if your using the BMP, since there is nothing worth crafting. Xunlai is of some use if you want to store the books, but that can be done every few trips.

As for the guild embalmer, how often do you actually visit him ?

As for where the NPC's could be moved to, I'm not really sure. I was thinking of asking the old RA outpost (from memory it was closed about a month before the factions release) attached to LA and sticking the NPC's there, but that would only make sense for the LA NPC's. Though with some tweaks the old TA outpost attached to droks might be made to look like it belongs in the mountains of Shing Jea island.
You can appreciate why their in the capitcal city, but I have to agree I dont love their location. Perhaps putting them in a corner somewhere, standing in a circle.

It feels a bit rushed puttng them by the fountain IMO.

The entire reason for the BMP was to raise revenue, and thus reward players for spending money on Guild Wars add-ons. It was advertised for a while, so I don't see it as a taunt.

It wasn't a taunt then. But it is a taunt now for the simple fact that they can't get the BMP now.

/signed because they're just plopped there in the most prominent place they could be in LA...likely to keep down the spam "how do I access the BMP"(which happens anyway). They can move them out of the way now that most people with the BMP know what to look for. It may cause a "WTF where are the BMP NPC's?" for a bit but once they find them again it'll be all good.

My biggest grief with their current location is for sake of gatherings, videos, etc.

Hey, maybe this'll make people go use the stage in Henge of Denravi a little more for their events. It's such a perfect spot for stuff like that and it's never used.

This is one of those things that should have been done in the first place. Very unimportant yet....

p.s. I always do get a laugh though seeing an Order of Whispers member in the middle of LA.

I answered that. other than a clipping issue, what is the dire need to move them? is the fountain to cluttered for your liking? does it impede your game progress that much?

every time I change my guild emblem.

-if rats and blobs can float around clip free so can patrols.

-I'd rather have a teleport feature installed...you know, when logging in, being able to pick which town you warp to after you select your character...not just log into the last town you were in.

So its only because you like them there. Ok.
