When did I say titles were worthless to me? Please show me the quote! I'm rank VIP in the KOABD title because I have LG, LC, LSH along with a few others I think.
I like getting titles. I'm rank 8 or 9 in most GWEN title and I'm currently working on my faction titles. I never said I didnt think titles were worth it.
My point was that pve titles show what you have achieved on an individual titles and KOABD is the pin-ultimate pve titles for showing individual character development.

|
How exactly did you come to that conclusion? I saw most people not signing your idea, so I dunno where you got that from!
Yes its the player who plays the character, but fgs get this into your head! If you choose to play a pve character you have to accept that any achievements you make on that character are individual to them. You cant give all your characters KOABD just because one has 2 maxed titles and another has 3 maxed titles and you want to mix them.
Its called "role play" for a reason!!!!! If you dont like to role play and achieve unique things for characters then dont do pve!
Yes making all titles account based would make life alot easier and stop people complaining. But how do you then show the unique accomplishments of one individual pve characters and it also make other titles confusing and nonse-sensical!
How does it make sense if you achieve "legendary gaurdian" or "protctor of...." on your elemental, but your warrior can display it even though they havent even done a single mission in that campaign?
How does it make sense to show "legendary skill hunter" on a lvl1 character who has no elite skills?
How does it make sense to show "legendary cartographer" on a lvl1 character who can only move around tyria and hasnt even left pre-searing yet?
How does it make sense to show the lightbringer or sunspear character on a tyrian level 1 character who has never set foot in elona?
Do you get the idea? Get the hint? You cannot show a maxed titles on a character who hasnt done anything to earn it. The same goes KOABD! How does it make sense to have a lvl1 with KOABD made up of titles like LSH and LG and LC which they didnt earn?
If they get KOABD using existing account based titles, then fine. But you cant allow a character who hasnt even set foot outside of the starting area to show the titles I mentioned above when they had nothing to do with them, just to make your lvl1 have KOABD.

KOABD in itself doesnt, because those are ten a penny now. But the titles which make them up like LG, LC, LSH and alike are impressive IMO, and shouldnt devalued by being made account based or "added" to another characters count, just to give someone KOABD. But KOABD does still show a certain something about that individual character and how titles they have maxed.

The whole character/account is dumb when it comes to anywthing but fighting.
And the most important 'fight' titles, the PvP titles, are account based.
Yo here you are, you can't show your real skill as Warrior or Monk separately, because the titles that really show skill are already account based, so who cares if any other title become account based?

So you would rather pvp titles were character based? yet you want pve titles account based?
Surely we should be able to show individual accomplishments for individual pve characters, just as you argue you should for pvp characters?

No one is saying you cant take another char through and do it. If you enjoy that then go ahead. But if a player has already achieved a title, it shouldnt matter which char they are on. Titles are there for the players.

Isileth will you please try to appreciate what a pve character is.
A pve character is a role played character which you develop as a player, over a long period of time and that individual develop has to be reprosented individually. Its all well and good for pvp characters which take 10 minutes to create and can be deleted and re-made in minutes.
A question i asked earlier!
Would it make sense if you earnt legendary guardian on your elementalist and was able to display it on your lvl1 warrior who hasnt even set foot in elona or cantha?
Ofcourse that makes no sense, because how can you have legendary guardian on a warrior who isnt even able to access hard mode and hasnt even been to the two other continents needed. The same applies for KOABD which that "character" hasnt earnt. The player may have played the character, but its the characters accomplishments that matter in pve... not the players.
Its call "role play" for a reason, because your no longer playing yourself and your taking on the role of someone/something else and what they do matters. Your no longer yourself and what you do as a real person doesnt matter. Its the actions of your character which count in pve because your playing a storyline and interacting with an unreal world.
In pvp its different; In pvp the playes accomplishments count because your fighting other real people and not tackling a storyline or the computer AI!
When you play against other real people then the titles are yours! When you play against the story and the game itselfs, the titles are those of your character!

Yes, you can pretty much buy those titles. But would some noob have millions for titles? No.

Survivor and LDoA are closed to old school characters, and are mutually exclusive. This would pretty much give +1 (and in many cases +2) titles to anyone going down this track.
Plus, what of the players who have rightfully achieved multiple ranks in KoaBD on multiple chars? You've effectively flushed that effort, because they could have just done it all on one char and gotten the same title out of it in the end.
Also, it would take away the inordinate achievement of those who earn these titles on unwanted professions - mesmer, ritualist, assassin, etc. For these types of players, getting ranks in this title means a lot. See a chest hunter title on a war? Meh. See that title on a mesmer? I do a double-take.

Considering the farmability and cheapening of many titles on different characters, I stopped being amazed at everything except Rank 4+ KoaBD or high PvP titles. Assassins with Legendary Survivor are a joke to me now.

its grand as it currently is, KoaBD Title track is a collection of accomplishments on one char, not account,
i.e. if i made an elonian char i'd get .4% to title form the bonus area at start which a non-elonian char wouldn't have, same for factions (but the festival weekend allows chars to get there), so that would give the player that made 3 differant chars the advantage howevers small, .4% is massive:'(.
also LSH however long it is it means that your char has all elites unlocked on that char so having 3 chars do each continant seems odd.
thats just imo, i think the system as a whoel is grand at present.

I would wholeheartedly LOVE it if they did it this way!
This title track should count Unique Maxed Titles on the Account. It's my old idea I keep posting everywhere for at least a year.
Make it fair for everyone, no matter when started playing GW, no matter if prefers to play just one or several characters.
This change wouldn't make this title easier - all the achievements have to be done anyway! It just gives more options and makes the system FAIR for everyone!
This is my favorite solution to the Legendary Surviror problem - while giving a chance for characters created before Factions would be nice aswell, this makes more sense - only a real Survivor can show the title but old dedicated players don't get disadvantaged.
It would give a reason for me to create a Presearing char and go for Legendary Defender of Ascalon, I always wanted to do it, but now this title is useless when it's not on the main title collecting character so I just felt it's not worth the massive effort. This would make it a viable title to go for as one of the 30 needed to be maxed and a great alternative to grinding another extreme title like max Kurzick/Luxon.
High ranks of this title would still require a lot of dedication to one character - to get the Legendary Vanquisher, Legendary Guardian, Legendary Cartographer etc. titles which should remain character based, and which count as +1 extra title for KaoBD track.

For an example.. They can run
Anyway, being a good runner helps you in many ways in PvE. Some ppl aggro mobs when they are supposed to run past them.. I'd prefer to have someone who is experienced in running in my party.

There are RL-rich noobs that buy gold..
Just because you're good at playing one character doesn't mean that you're good at playing another. If they made KoaBD account-based you wouldn't know whether the guy with "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals" was a 24/7-farmer who bought all of his guardian/protector/vanquisher titles on another character and really suck at playing the current character OR a good player.
