Skill Idea: Lamb to Slaughter
Intro: First off I dont see necromancers as being "good" people. They may not be "evil" but their methods are not considered nice in polite society. They deal in blood, death, and curses. Would a necromancer be willing to harm an ally for the better of his/her self and perhaps the benifit of the rest of the party? I think so. This is my skill idea.
Lamb to Slaughter
Blood Magic (elite)
10, 1/4, 30
Target ally (pets, party members, heros, henches) loses 20% of total life. All other allies are healed for 200* life.
*Amount of life is negotiable but I wanted opinions on whats a fair gain for the loss. Maybe its a multiple of life lost. for 20% the party gains x1-5 so a loss of 50 life is 50 gain for base.

So you could just kill people on your team by sacrificing them

Giving people a way to kill their team is not clever.

I can see it being useful if it was self-targeting, otherwise, hilarious people will just Arcane Echo + Skill it and kill their team
And with that 1/4 sec cast, its like, a whole team infuse. So, even if it was self targeting, everyone would go Mo/N, so they could use this skill, and just worry about themselves most of the time.

I'm dreaming of that skill, PvE-only, given on new quest reward, and recharge of 5 sec. Make it part of no profession and have healer madness.

Right u missed the whole necros not being nice comment i think. You think Olias or Livia would be willing to bleed koss a little if it helped everyone else? It has a 30 sec recharge, and even if you echoed, it would be 40% not 100%.
There are already self sac spells. I was looking at a darker aspect.

And mesmers should be able to steal energy from their allies (for the good of the party, of course) because they're supposed to be sneaky and manipulative.
And ritualists should be able to rip souls out of their party members to serve better uses in enslaved spirit form since being so detached from the physical world they wouldn't see liberating a spirit from its fleshy prison as a bad thing.

Numbers like: Sacrifice 50% of your max health. All party members in the earshot get 25...75% of your current health. (not whole map coz that would be imbalanced for runners maybe.
Cost 10 or 15. Cast 1 or 2 and recharge maybe 15.

I think it would be best if it was a self sacrifice. Making it only 100 health, or scaled with Blood Magic, would help balance it.

Necromancers by D&D what have you lore, technically aren't bad people. GW may make them out to be ghoulish, but they simply practice the art of necromancy. Which in itself is simply ressurecting the dead. (So technically Monks and Ritualists are necromancers as well) The evil ones are more in line with Warlocks, which practice satanic worship through (summoning demons etc etc). Although GW's version of Necromancer (much like Diablo II's) is kinda a combination of a warlock+necromancer+some corny vampire from the 1930's.
