Stupid pets, does the word "Stay" mean nothing?
Flag the pets!
When you drop the hench party flag let it flag you pet as well. Theres nothing like trying to pull and having your pet over aggro even if its on "heel" because it gets hit with ice spikes or something.

If I can stake that stupid mule Zhed I should be able to tell my pet to "Sit"

I went on just to test "heel"... and well my pet tiger did not run in and aggro everything, it stayed behind me as I expected it to.
Well it seems to be working fine but if it really is broken or whatever.
/signed to having it fixed if its bugged for some people...

try around drakkaar lake from sifhalla. The dwarves and elemetals there keep spiking my pet with slow and it drags all kinds of crap in on us. I dont know about other places, but thats where I have noticed it.

I could see a pet getting in the way and doing a little extra un-needed agro

Unfortunately I don't have any rangers on my main account (the only one that has EoTN) so I'll have to take your word on that

Mine main is a A/R using a crit/barrage build. But I am thinking some of the areas near droks could be bad as well with all the freaking imps.

But... what I'd really like to see is the pets acting more like animal companions and less like henchmen. When I run into battle or explore an area I want my faithful white tiger to stride purposefully along beside me... not ten feet behind me! This has always bugged me, with the pet panel it's easy to switch between "heel" and agressive when something pops up.
Heel should mean heel.. not meander along behind me.

/signed, that's one reason I don't even bother with my beautiful white moa these days... A pet flag would be great.

I just got a black wolf, and he gets spanked by most anything (lvl 9 or so) Which isnt that much of a problem but even in heel he stays back pretty far when i go to pull, and agros alot more than I would like. If its the spiritual bond you have or what ever Anets idea is, why cant you say "Sit white moa. Stay!" If you can teach that retard goren to stay a moa should be able to do it.

My experience is that you have to play the controls constantly. When set on heel and you attack to draw something the pet will immediately run into the group. It does not stay behind you, sit, or anything resembling the command heel.
The way I use this most is to attack, switch to lock/guard, and switch back to heel. At this point the pet will return, and usually is only half way to the enemy. Yes, the command is broke and does not work.
The pet should have a flag counter - if not on the mini-map then on the pet viewing bar. But lacking either of these - then at least stay with Alesia - O, forgot that is out front. Don't guess there are any options.
