Options for gift giving...
I think it would be nice to have an addon to storage for gift giving. Often players aren't online at the same time, and i know that i have friends to whom I'd like to give birthday presents when the time comes. It would be nice to be able to drop things into a friend's storage, without being able to access the contents. When the friend goes to their storage the next time they logon the item would be there with a short message saying who it was given by and when.
What do you all think?

Yeah I like that idea. My friend just had a birthday yesterday and since we met over GW all I could do was wish her well and what not. That would be pretty sweet. Also I know this isn't WoW and I've played it and picked GW over it, but I really liked the mail feature they have on that game. Its pretty nifty

Yea I think that would be a great idea something maybe like a mailbox even, where when the person logs on it will say something like you have got a gift waiting for you "head to the your storage to recieve it" or something around those lines would be cool.

Is it? I've never played WoW, but if they have all these nifty little features sounds like I might need to give it a go.

It can appear like the leftover loot window when you finish a Mission, when your friend logs in next.
Gift wrapping by turning an item into a box present with ribbons and all would be nice too. I'd pay ingame gold to giftwrap stuff.

Yeah, but in an earlier thread, people already said that player-made gift boxes could be used as a scam exploit. There's no way to make it work without someone putting, say, a bolt of cloth in a box and advertising that they're selling a mini Gwen or something.
/signed for the original idea, though. I give my friends things all the time, and it'd be especially useful since my guild leader and I share dye. Because my two closest friends in-game live in the UK and NZ respectively (I'm in the US), it'd make it easier to share and give gifts.
I like the idea of the "unclaimed loot" box. Simple, easily recognized, already in-game.

Why not user different art and color for player-wrapped gifts?

They could make it fuchsia and cause the "PLAYER-GIVEN GIFT" part to flash electric blue and green on mouseover, and somebody somewhere will still miss it and become part of the "ways people gets scammed" thread in Riverside. :P
Idiot-proof it, and we'll just make a better idiot. But we really need to quit derailing the thread.
