That skill you mention, which you feel is useless, could do we quite a bit of frustrating damage as an ele. You might not think its effective, but it would annoy the hell out of me.

Its because the AI has perfect reactions so they'll interupt all spells perfectly, add to that that they have a mutch higher attribute in the mesmer skills and that they cast twice as fast in HM and add a high level of fast casting to that , pretty deadly to casters i asume.

I would simply increase the length to 3....18 seconds reduce the gain to 2..4 energy and move it to Fast Casting Attribute (to avoid non mesmers abusing it)

You are with a Monk, enemy elementalist decide to spike the monk, you use Lyssa's Aura on the monk, and drain the elementalists a bit, or target the a tank in PvE, staying out of sight and danger.
That could really work.

/agree it would work much better this way, though it kinda makes the name contradict itself, cuz your aura doesn't go around allies.

Eh... no... an aura is something you have on you that affects others around you.
Most of the other 'aura' spells can target allies:
Like [skill]Balthazar's Aura[/skill].

i only have one request if u wanna buff this skill and that is that you hav a cap on how much energy you can steal from one target
wastrels worry spam ne1?
i actually always thought this skill would work better as a hex like for 1-15 seconds every time you cast a spell on target foe you steal -insert reasonable amount here- energy from that foe
