GW2 Title Suggestion
It's probably to late to get into GW1, so I'll make a GW2 suggestion:
How about a different set of "titles". Something simple like how Togo is called "Master Togo" since he proved himself so worthy during the Tengu Wars. I think it would be cool if, say after you beat Prophesies, your character would be called "Sir" or "Lady" from then on. And NPCs would know, but only for the area you earned the title in. I'd like to go to Lion's Arch and have the guards say "Greetings, Sir Roland." Or maybe, after fighting so long in Cantha, the Headmasters in Shing Jea would know me and call me "Master Roland". Just something that I think would make your game experience seem more involving.
Also, something else the bugs me, why can't they make the NPCs address me by my first name only. I'm tired of everyone saying, "Nice weather today, eh, Roland Trueblade?" I mean, how often do you go and address someone like that. "Looks like it's going to rain, eh, Joe Smith?" Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Perhaps they could make it a title you can toggle, like the others, so that those with Sir or Lord in their names can choose to 'display' this or not.

Though if you named a character with "Sir" or "Lady" in it already, it may not turn out well. I guess make it toggleable, or put it like a guild tag, but before your name?

The Sir and Lady thing is kind of like in Diablo 2, when, if you beat Normal, you were "Slayer _______" Nightmare was "Champion ________" and Hell was "Patriarch/Matriarch __________" depending on if you were male or female.
It's a cool idea that would be nice to see implemented, as long as it could be toggled. And it probably should be turned off for PvP.
Maybe there should be a thing at the character creation thing that says "What would you like the NPC's to call you? ____________"

Maybe not everyone takes the game so seriously that if they make a warrior, they think they're a knight irl. Some of us like to have fun with our names, and not be so intense about it. Maybe get your brain active then U've not this silly problem rofl

Agreed. Just because a name isn't set out in the traditional sense does not mean that the person who made it isn't using their brain. In fact, a lot of the time, the people who make the weirder names are more creative, since a lot of the more traditional names are pulled from a fantasy source (not all of them, of course, but a lot). Take your name, for example, phoenix. How did you get the inspiration to name your character with the last name Griffindor, or your guru username "phoenix tears"?
Anyway, as for the idea at hand, I'd like to see it, but only if it was toggleable. I can certainly see how it would clash with some people's character names. For example, take my character name. Lady Robot Plant, although doesn't sound particularly bad, it doesn't sound particularly good either.

This is where my real pipe dream comes in to play. I agree that people should be able to name their characters something they think is fun. But, for me, it interferes with my game experience. So, how about a seperate role playing server. I know, I know, not gonna happen...but I can always dream.

Titles like that on the end of extremely unfit or retarded-looking names would be an annoyance. As much as I like the idea, you can just add the title to your name yourself.

Many people have said it should be toggle-able, so if your name looks retarded, turn it off. And what about the character limit? You can't always add it yourself?
