If all of our characters had the option to walk in towns and outposts, they'd become so out of shape that we'd have to change the name of Tyria to America.
OUCH!

I know...ditch the "Wars" part completely and rename the game Guild Sims.
It'd be soooo awesome to tell your Sin to go to at bed 7pm, wake up at 3am, make breakfast for 2 hours, shower for another hour, watch 30mins of TV to improve his mood before rushing off to work...

There are no TV...
...but they could feed their dolyaks or something.
It won't be something that you'll have to use, it would be something that some people could use.
If you don't like it, you don't use it. Do't you like 'roleplaying' don't roleplay, but leave others be. Anet likes roleplaying and stuff like this:

Uhm...yeah! It'ld be great if GW had that level of customization. I like the Role playing in my Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
Don't think T.V. would be appropraite though...
Work?...Well yeah, If you can call turning gruesome monsters into a red, pulpy paste work.
Make breakfast for TWO hours?! Who do you think I am? Rachel Rae? (I wish...)
...and sorry dood. My girls a club fiend. Never to bed before midnight and never, ever up before noon.

I could see the advent of some offensive skills that would do more damage to a running target, thus making walking a tactically useful option.

Push button that applies the condition of being on ice with no icon. They have the ice condition already - just needs mapped to a button and the icon to be hidden. Well, sorta. But they have the technology!

It's like that in Star Ocean 3- automatically you run around, but hold O (I think) and you're forced to walk. Simple enough to do, it'd just have to be tied to movement reduction like with any slowdown hex.

I'd only use it in outposts anyway, but I'd like the option to walk, especially since running isn't a good idea in my ele's Kurzick armour.

Thread necromancy! Also, ~signed~ I really wish this was implemented. It would make getting some of my friends who are roleplayers over the hump of playing a game that doesn't inherently support it. So yeah, in my case it would make getting friends to buy the game an easier task.

This could be easy, look ok, but be kind of useless.
I can't really see any reason why this is a bad idea. It's not like, game-changing or anything... It's kind of impossible to argue against it
I'm always wondering how my chars don't get tired from constant running in PvE and such.

i guess

Although this should of been in the game since release I dont think it should be added now.
1 - They prob wont add because they are busy with GW2
2 - Id rather them add it to GW2 and make GW2 awesome
3 - Walking in GW1 is erm... pointless but as I said it SHOULD of been in

Urg. I think you eat too much and think of stuffs that is not needed.
Why not asking Anet so your char can Crawl, Jump (Not just in the same place). Oh and dance + moving. Oh maybe clap + moving. Oh man how about walking with 2 hand instead of 2 legs. Dam !

Atm I'm testing perfect World.. even there you can switsch from running to walking within some little clicks ...
I hope this gets at least changed for GW2 ...

Will make roleplaying and socializing more in depth, plain and simple....
...plus going secondary Warrior just to use Dolyak Sig is not worth it - not to mention that's only in Explorable Areas!
