Customisable Guild Halls
First off I'd like to say hi as I'm a new member to guru
Anyway, I've been giving this a thought for a while now, I know people have posted similar things but I just want to share what i would like to see put into GW, if not then GW2.
I was thinking in addition to being able to buy NPC's for the hall that maybe we could also buy decorations, such as banners, statues, things like that. Holiday events could give special themed items like a grench or dwayna statue for christmas and similar for halloween. Also special guild items for achievements like winning one of the tournaments or reaching a certain position on the GvG ladder. I'm not gonna go into a whole lot of detail about it and im sure there's many more things that can be done other than statues and banners. I just saw this type of gap left in the Guild Halls and how many people are tired of going into different Guild Halls and having them all look the same, so maybe giving them a slightly more customisable addition to them people wouldn't be so fed up of going into the Guild Hall and being completely boring to look at.
Please comment and share your opinion, thnx

yeah event themes would be pretty cool .. also having a pet box by storage would be cool , you could put your tamed pets in there + they would have a certain area of your guildhall to roam with other guild members pets. a "guildhall menagerie" sorta thing .... this could even lead to some sort of PvP set up where your pet could have a gild skirmish against other guildmembers pets + GPvGP (guild pet v guild pet) battles .. this would be a bit like hero training (in that your charecter wouldnt be able to fight with the pet) but any pet related skills could be utilised ..i know it goes off the idea of customisable guildhalls a bit but hey

Thats what I thought when I read the thread title.
But yea, I really don't see why not, as long as these "items" are not in the field of play during GvG, I mean like, when you're just running around the Guild Hall or whatever, but not during GvG play. All that extra stuff could cause lag or just plain get in the way like those goddamn Rainbow Phoenixes

Our alliance does several events thru the year involving GH's
Be nice too if you could drop items in GH, so that we could scavenger hunt in a GH.

I'd really love to be able to display my guilds emblem in the hall. Everyone else has some good ideas. Sadly this probably won't happen until GW2.

True, but it is an excellent suggestion for GW2. Then again, with NCS being involved, the CoX base system would be excellent as well

Yeah, obviously the things in the guild would only be available when your just hanging out in the hall. Nice ideas though, keep them coming!

I too am new to guru, but have also wanted to be able to customize my gh with different things. What I thought would also be cool is to have a set of tools that you could make your own gh with instead of just the stock ones. Theres any number of cool locales in the game that aren't entirely represented in the current GH's.

I could careless about happy festive holiday decorations, or "pet storeage"(wtf?)
HOWEVER, I am a HUGE Hockey fan, now I know most who play this game are nerds that never leave the house or play sports so I'll explain all this.
You see in a Pro Hockey Arena when your team accomplishes something they get a banner to hang from the rafters. (Big tapestry looking thing) Such as Confrence Champions, Division Champs, Stanly CUp winners, also there are a handful of other individual awards that get banners. THIS I would be in support of if a GH would get a banner if you guild finnished 1st in the MaT, or the world champs or such. Teh banner would stay there aslong as the guild was around, and switch halls with the guild. Maybe even a banner for being runner up I guess. It would be a gigantic tapestry that hangs behind the Guild Lord.
No banners for winning HoH or beating a dungeon or anything like that. Just GvG accomplishments.

Yeah, those banners are in more sports than just hockey, but it's a great idea, I never thought of that. That would be a great idea, to see banners like "February 2008 Monthly Automated Tournament Winners" or Runners-up or whatever behind the Guild Lord.

I do think there should be a pve-equivalent for the GH. (now before i get flamed : ) True, the current game doesn't offer a challenge worthy of something like that atm, but there'll probably be one in GW2.
But if it's just pvp, i think it should be more like the silver lining around the cape or something like that.
plus, i think it encourages the guild to do both pvp and pve

I would extend this to Alliances that hold towns in Factions. Those are the only "guild-wide" community feats that a guild can accomplish together.
