All the people who are wondering how to open mad chest quick
Witman's folly in NORMAL mode with lockpicks with 3-5 chests takes 2 mins or less with speed boosts
or the punchout extravangiza (pardon my spelling) takes 10-20 seconds to run to the first chest then you resign and do it again. NORMAL MODE
you will spen alot less time and money if you do it these 2 ways. (the chance to retain will be very high and only go higher as you Tier up)
O would you look at that you maxed the treasure hunter title and OOOO snap you are 1-2 tiers away from a max lucky (simple enough for you guys?) now you have max treasure the chance to retain is very high so just continue to run them till you have a max lucky title. (was that so hard?)

You should be able to show your titles under your name which means all titles would be account wide. However you would not get any benefits, as example neither you would see your map cartographed, missions dont or gain benefits from reputation/ss, lb ranks. This would make pugging a lot more easier.

FAIL ECONOMICCS
FYI.........GW1 IS NOT A PREQUESITE TO EQUALITY IN GW2
it was long ago officially stated that GW2 would be a complete new game without being able to transfer gold/tangibles/anything the HOM *UNLOCKS* will not be able to be sold for an instant ton of GW2 gold.
they stated from mike o"brion/jeff strain/dev team that you will have NO/ZERO/NADA advantage over a brand new player.
they are going out of their way to prevent an instant elite group of ADVANTAGED players to not scare off new players who might feel like second class citizens.
think cosmetic but no advantage stuff not im gonna be god over the noobs

I can only agree with four character based titles being made account based. Those four are Wisdom, Treasure Hunter, Drunkard, and Sweet Tooth. Of course, if they were made into account based titles, at least Drunkard and Sweet Tooth should gain more ranks before being maxed, or have more points needed to max out, but still only 2 ranks. Wisdom and Treasure Hunter are kinda crazy for each character, maybe make it 100k instead of 10k points to max out and then make it account based titles. Many would argue that the 6 reputation titles should be added with this *sunspear, lightbringer, norn, asura, etc* the only way I could agree with this is if you make the ranking system similar to the kurzick/luxon titles, but that would then create a problem then people new to nightfall, since you need sunspear ranks to progress if your character is from nightfall.
On cartographer, most definantly must disagree. Same goes for many other titles that are not unrealistically hard/extreamly easy that any character can/not get them, such as Protector, Guardian, etc.

I'm sorry, but that's the worst idea I ever heard. Those 4 titles (drunkard, sweet tooth, treasure, and wisdom) are already money sinks as it is. Adding some unrealistically high level just so you can make them account based is not a good idea. Really, if I want to max drunkard on my char, and get 10000 minutes drunk, and you have 2 chars you want to max it on, why should I have to suddenly get 20000 minutes drunk just for my one char, when you can just go get 10000 on each of your 2 chars?

From experience, I can say that titles are ruining gameplay. I've played my Warrior for nearly a year straight, purpose being, titles. I have played little of my other characters because so many titles require a single character to max them. Titles being character based makes this game monotonous, I know most of you will take insult from this, but the game has become a WoW clone, pertaining to title farming.
I think almost all titles should be made "incredibly" easily attainable. I think they should be ranked 1-10, ranks 1-9 should be easy to achieve for "normal" players. However, the stretch from 9-10 for a "maxed" title should be a grindfest for those players who love games like WoW.
In my conclusion, titles (like heroes) have their benefits, but both take this game out of its area of comfort and make it something less unique.

I'm all for more titles account-based, then HoM wouldn't be *quite* as much as a fail (but still a pretty big one).
Logistically, muling all my rares and keys across to my wisdom/treasure hunter character is annoying and serves no real purpose other than to prostitute myself to these titles. The other day I was clearing up some random Realm of Torment quests on a little-used character.....and a key drops. It sucks when there's a chest RIGHT THERE but I gotta mule it to my title char, map over to RoT, fight till I find a chest. Srsly, what's the logic of this?

Ok, how about this. People like you, who put the character foremost, can have it character-based for your account. People like me, who put the player foremost, can have it account-based on our accounts. Fair deal?

I agree with you on this because I am farming with my monk and iding everything with my main character. I am doing this just so that the main character has a better chance of getting gems out of the stacks of geode.
I have done given up on treasure hunter title and just started opening chest in the areas I farm. (kick chest, dang it drop the staff I want!!!)

This is about the bolded point (OMG YOU ARE DUMB) in order to explore something you have to see it with your OWN EYES <-do you understand yet? that is how the explorer title works once you SEE the spot it is open but if that other char you are on has never seen it then how can he/she know something about it? I can tell you I have never seen France (which means I know nothing about the country side,Land, buildings) but my sister has been to France (which makes her the explorer/person to see with her own eyes)
2. the treasure hunter title is very easy to get and does not take along time to do (which is why so many people have it)
3. the sweet tooth is the same as the cart title HOW CAN 1 char eat sugar and it count for another char? (thats like saying I ate the candy bar but my brother got the sugar rush from it) again you do not understand so you just posted a load of QQing crap.
4. the same goes for the wisdom title it is char based for the reason (look at it like this if my brother found a gold watch on the road does that mean I also find a gold watch on the road?)
you do not understand the account/char system do you?
it is very clear that the account you use is like a giant Family with many siblings aka the characters on the account any thing you do that is account based is a united Family effort and anything you do that is character based is is a solo act just you and no other family members.
I hope you will stop posting on GWG and I think every other person on GWG hopes that to.

seriously, you are really the dumb ***hole here, not only for becoming personal, where is no reason to become so, but also for beign too small minded to see the benefits for the gamplay factor, it would have, when more titles become account based. People like you just ignore the fact, that making more titles account based would be alot more GOOD for the game at all, then anyhow BAD.
Titles totally destroyed the aspect of GW's multi character friendlyness...with implementation it has become total senseless to play more than 1 Character, because playing on any other characters, than your Main Character thats the title hunter and maybe a PvP Character, there is no sense anymore in playing any other characters, because they are pve-wise simple just a WASTE OF TIME !!! That was not so, before titles have existed. Before the implemention of titles, it was TOTAL REGARDLESS, which how much characters you play, because playing many different classes had a sense and there was nothing, that stopped you doing it so and there was NO REASON, that lets you think:
Why the **** am I playing with this Char now, I'm just wasting my time, that I could use better for Title Hunting on my Main Char !!!
The fact, that I wasn't in France personally doesn't change the Fact, that I KNOW, that France EXISTS and also know WHERE this Land lies, due to the shared knowledge of someone, who has explored the land before me.
Plus maybe a bought map, which shows me the full explored world then.. guy, get a brain and think, before writing and don't think only in black and white, theres also ever GREY. There's never only ever 1 kind of a view, how to look at things, there are at least ever 2 ways of looking at something...
Its the same way as if I would put in front of you now a glass and would ask you, if it is half full, or half empty ? >.< It's a matter of looking at things pessimistic, or optimistic..something, what very much people seem to have to learn here ...
Also the load of arguments of the others here are very good reasons, why to make other titles, like wisdom/treasure hunter ect. to account based titles, because they kind of gameplay the have force players to make unendlsee senseless transactions between your own characters, lettign the players just waste more time, than needed.
GW has become with those titles more and more to a clone WoW, where everything is just based on stupid time wasting, to brign hopefully as much as possible people to online addiction, with they only difference, that players on GW don't have to pay monthly for their online addiction a fee >.>
Before the implemention of titles, Guild Wars was perfect in kind of fun providing gameplay - character based titles totally destroyed this concept.
Titles itself were a wonderful idea, but the way they got implemented is just a terrible fail that made out of GW a WoW Clone

I love you! you still do not understand. Im done with you and hope to never run into you in game have fun failing with your titles and what not.
(it would seem you spend more time QQing about how much time it will take then just playing the game)
Have a good GW life I am now no longer going to click any thread with your name under it. It would just seem you do not learn anything and can not take a hint from people (kind of like tender wolf)
P.S. when will you stop posting crap on guru? everyone wants to know.
