Default Sylvari Professions?

we don't yet know how the professions and races will work in GW2 but what do yall think would be a good profession idea for the sylvari?
IMO with them being born of plants, maybe have the ability to control plant life?
I loved playing as a plant dominator in City of Villains. I think something like that in the GW world would work really well.

Ex. Tangle a Charr up in thorns you summon from the ground ect.

Yes, racial bonuses are something GW needs.

Racial Bonuses aren't what GW needs.
It may promote Racism to other Races.

People would say to a Norn Monk, "YoUr BuIld is [email protected], YoU CaNt haVe a NoRn gO MoNking!"
You know^^, But some people would love to be an Asuran Warrior, while others want to be "Norn Monk"!.

And make Racial-based Skills Instead, The only thing which differs Races is Appearance, Storyline and Skills.
As you can see, In WoW they had Racial Bonuses which gave the Limitation of Mixing, Race and Class to your Character.

fixed it for you.

And that is bad because meta is asking for nerfs; and unlike your skills runes or items, you can't change your race.
Imagine how disappointing that would be for a PvE player almost trough a campain and then the PvP Norn warriors got his /ss nerfed because they where using IWAY too much.

They actually did that on propose, making each race only have access to 70% of the classes, so you you would never be able to make a Norn monk, just because it might suck in a certain situation or 2.

And by that having each side locked out form 1 class(paladin and shaman)
With the expansion they realized that was a dumb idea and made the first step towards fixing it.

@ the OP

The OP suggests a racial class, at which point the race would be the only one taking that class as their primary, so the classes primary attributes' effect would be the same as a racial bonus, except it doesn't affect other primary choices.
I've always found plant users quite boring classes, becasue they lack versatility, but as racial skills or perhaps even a seperate class just for Sylvari they would work well and be a lot more different from say asura than -5 armor and a permanent 2 health regen, would be.

Racial bonus sounds like nice thing but if anet adds some race to have caster bonus and some race to have melee bonus everyone knows what happens. However i never stop amazing how well anet can do some things, it might actually work... I think there should be some limit mixing prof and race, i can imagine norn warrior, but norn mesmer? Or sylvari ranger, but sylvari dervish O_o. Well, i think theres all new classes (except maybe the common ones in all fantasy (monk, ranger, mage, warrior)) and anet somehow solves the problem with them.

But I'm already racist against both Charr and Asura.

Though more on topic, I'm thinking that Sylvari will be a more nimble race. So their race specific traite will be something like dodging. While Norn will be the bear, and maybe the Asura having something to do with the Golems or energy.

Though I would like it if each race didn't simply have Norn +5 strength, Asura +5 energy, etc. Maybe just make race specific skills.

I think the Sylvari will be a more earth oriented nimble race. I picture them like wood elves or something like that.

What's wrong with Sylvari Dervishes and Norn Monks anyway?

Nothing but I believe people are stereotypical to those two races in the sense that they think a Norn is a massive brutish creature that will only be able to pummel things. As for Sylvari Dervishes who is against this anyway?
