Permanent festival collectors
The issue of people forgetting to turn in their festival tokens occur after ever festival. While its not a big deal, the solution may not be such a big deal either.
Perhaps having a single collector on each continent, that collects ALL types of festival tokens for rewards lousier than during the festival.
There's only 3 rewards possible: the basic Sweets, Alcohol and Fireworks, and they cost 10 festival tokens each. The interface will be like a Weaponsmith, more than your normal collector.
That way, one permanent collector is made, and people who miss out don't have to carry the tokens for another year. Better than nothing.

Good Idea
...but I doubt it will happen.
At all the other festivals collectors usually hang around a little afterward. You'd think that they would have kept them around for this one, seeing that some people may not have automatically clicked open their gift bags, WHICH also give tokens. They left the decorations up; it is beyond me why they would remove collectors.

I really don't see the need for it. Anet always gives a specific time for the end of the event (Wintersday was a bit confusing, since it ran over. But the announcement for Canthan New Year specifically stated when the event would end), and every single time, there's people complaining when the time runs out and they haven't yet exchanged all their festival items. It's extraordinary how many people this happens to. It's sort of hilarious and disconcerting that people have such difficulty at understanding a deadline. Either that or they just don't pay enough attention to the announcements for the event.

I agree and don't agree. They should have left them there for time the decorations are up. BUT not permanent. I bet it was just how the festival was coded in. I doubt some guy at anet was liek ZOMG ITS NOON /SLAPTOTHEFACE PLAYERS.

I wouldn't QQ any if Guild Wars was going to be around next year but since it isn't, it would be nice to unload these tokens for a last couple fireworks
I got to the NPC to turn them in, and then poof, disappeared in front of me. I was really quite shocked.

QFT. Also, Shing Jea and the port towns would be crowded as hell with every festival NPC ever, and new players would be demanding to know how to get lunar tokens in July. :P
And what about the temporary collectors that give hot prizes for easily farmed crap, like the Wintersday ones trading presents for noob grawl necklaces?

ANet forgot to leave the collector NPCs in the towns for a little while after this event was over. I don't know why, because they've done it all other events. This idea doesn't need implemented. All that needs done is for them to bring the collectors back for a few days.
