/signed for seeing the energy of party members

/not signed for seeing the energy of foes. It would just make beating enemies even easier in PvE, and in PvP would be annoying as heck.

/signed for seeing energy of friends and enemies. It could be quite helpful to see an enemies energy as a mesmer, and nice to see your ally casters energy before moving on.

The best way to impliment this would be that if your ally is selected you can view his hp and energy as numbers beneath the targeting bar.

For enemies it would just be a second bar of energy, and the argument that you could not know this is moot. How could you know how much health they have either???

Giving us a fixed number for allies and a bar for enemies would be appropriate and of great use.

Id love to see this implimented.

P.S. Im a War and I always wait for my eles, cause its no fun to agro a mob and hear your ele say just wait 60 sec and ill get off that nuke, you can live that long right??

Default Party Energy Monitoring

Posted this thread on a different forum a few years ago when I was running a battery necro, still hasn't happened, but would still be nice. I would like to be able to look at my party window (or perhaps another window) and be able to see the amount of energy that each ally in my party has. It would not be visible to the opposing team (in case of PvP energy denial techniques) and would overall be nice for people to know. Yes, I know that I can call my energy when running low, but that does take a second to do, which may be the second I need to cast some spell before something happens to me.

I'd have to agree. Allies only though. Here's something I threw together as an example.

Do people still use batteries?

If this function was added, I can see it being something like the hero panel for pets with energy being in place of the Attack, Guard, Heel commands. You wouldn't need anything else, and heroes already have this.

It's one of those things that are curiously absent from the game.

But also I think there should be an option that you can turn it on and off.

Already suggested many times, and always valid and logic.

If it can be done with 3 heroes, why not with the rest?

Heroes and hench already know when energy on someone is low, and will use BR and/or BiP to help. If you do not want to use a hero/hench as a battery, but want to use a human battery, and DO want to use hero/hench, this helps. More so with the hench. A hero can be monitored, and the energy can be called. Hench, can't. How do you know Mhenlo is out of energy and can't heal? Having some form of monitor for it would allow a human to either use a skill to help, wait for regen, or run from the fight.

Yeah, so let's all promote Bspike and Paraspike in GvG's okay? Now we'll know exactly who needs a BiP and have unlimited energy! I like the idea of right now where if you want effective battery you need good team communication (and ventless individuals simply need to ping their energy to indicate that they need energy).

Interesting, a two and a half year long thread of a simple request that has yet to be given a good argument against. By now, I would be happy for Anet to at least explain why they aren't willing to implement this.

While I'll be perfectly happy if it gets implemented, there are actually counter-arguments against this.

Ekelon pointed out that it makes it way too easy to know who to BiP, and may promote gimmicks.

Also, showing energy bars takes away an entire layer of communication between team members. Guild wars at its best, regardless of whether it's PvE or PvP, is about communication, and teams that can do it effectively will perform better. Taking this layer away dumbs down the game even more to appeal to the bad players, which isn't necessarily bad since 90%+ of the people in the game are horrible (HAI GAIZ IM PRO MENDING TANK, anyone?).

Finally, good players switch between different energy sets, and seeing their energy bar change so drastically is somewhat awkward because of the distortion (similar to when a warrior uses defy+endure pain, and their health becomes greatly distorted).

I've been thinking about it from a long time, but was actually thinking abou both foe's energy and ally's energy. The foe indication would actually give people a way to spike in a more efficient way, or to be sure that theyr pressure build actually works without having to test it many times before noticing it's /fail.

/agree

If this gets implemented, GW as a game of skill is completely done and that's what will drive most of the good players away and keep the complete shitters that don't know what they're doing.

Though it's good for their marketing strategy, I mean the retarded population is much larger than the semi-intelligent population.

if you can see the enemies energy, as stated before, goodbye strategy.

also you can know an ally's energy, its ctrl+click.

so really im not sure what youre even asking... im sorry if your team doesnt want to ctrl+click when theyre low to make BiP easier, knowing when to fall back in GvG, etc.

and what do you think would happen when they switch from high energy to low energy if theyre being denied?

edit: i would rather not be able to see enemy health than to be able to see enemy energy and health...
