Well, the Chakrams are used as slashing weapons, so it doesn't look wrong.
The Knuckles on the other hand, do look wrong. They're designed for punching and the animation has you using them like daggers by slashing and stabbing with the top of your fist.

However, the knuckles exist and katars don't. I think that the blades on the katars will make it look okay no matter what animation.

/signed *sigh* This takes me back to when I was playing FFVIII for the first time and trying to figure out what exactly Kiros weapon was. I love this sort of weapon and it would look pretty sweet on my sin. Her ungues are barely noticeable.

for all those wondering about the TYPE of damage, Katar are a type of PUNCHING blade, made for massive, open wounds. they are by no means to be slashed with.

In reference to Magikarp, and the above disbute about animation, the Katar look like it may take serious damage to the blade and attachment area if used in a slashing way (particularly against armour) rather than a punching way. Then again, I know little about daggers and try to use reason and logic to discuss things, so what do I know?

Daggers have enough skins. More Sword Skins are needed.
Like this for example.
Old School Daedric Weapons FTW.

Swords have quite a lot of skins.
Scythes and Bows could have some skins.
I think they should add some Scythe and Spear drops to Prophecies and Factions and some dagger drops to Prophecies.
Thet have all those 'design a skin' designs to start with after all.
Retroactivity FTW.

Kryta does seem appropriate for Katars to drop.

No, but remember that there are Ascalonina Assassins and Shinning Blade paragons (they are just hidden while you play over there, XD), so that could be the source.
On top of that, there where a lot of Margonites in the Crystal Desert, and there is at least one Margonite Assassin boss.

Do you even know what country Katars come from in real life?
It certainly isn't great britain (Ascalon.) They originate from India. Also why they are also known as Tiger Knives. Cantha, Elona and parts of Kryta seem to geographically be the most similar regions to India. (In terms of landscape, people, and wildlife.) Lets not forget, Kryta is also home to Tengu.

The Katar is a weapon that is originary form India. That allows reating it to Nightfall and Vabbi.
Then you can make Katars drop in the Crystal desert, not in Kryta (why must it be Kryta) since the Margonites where sea travelers, they could bring Quatars with them from Elona and/or Cantha.
