Improve of the BMP *Spoiler* dont click, when you won't read
I'm one, who has bought the BMP now through the latest action, and I've already played all 4 Missions through (they aren't that long lol)
First of all, I must say, that I'm somehow disappointed from the BMP.
its way too short, this is no BMP, is further more only a BQP, so a "Bonus Quest Pack".
These quests are way too short, to be "Missions"...they even have no own "Mission Icons" nor do they give us on the world maps some little spots on the maps, that get "explored" through them and maybe give us also some little bonus % in the exploring of the continents (like 0,5% or so, nothing big)
Then, once played all 4 "Quests", there is, other then for more of the BMP Weapons, absolutely no interest for replaying.
This Discovering Mode - absolutely uninteresting, too borign and the rewards are mostly total crap for the unbalanced quests, especially for the Saul D'Alessio one...
This Quests is way too far unbalanced...your team is too weak, levelwise, why can't be all simple level 20 ?? Why are under my allies level 16 weaklings, which have like only 3 skills in their bar -.- ???
The amount of Charrs in this mission is way tooo much, especialyl when ever spawn some more groups, once you killed some charr groups.
Sure, there are groups of charr, which are totally easy to kill, the ones, which are level 12, but thats all, its only 1/4th...
The rest of those charr enemy groups, especially the massive load of charr elementalists and this ridiculous overpowered lvl 28 charr hutner beasts are too much.
Such a freaking lvl 28 CHB can wipe nearly with 1 Fire Burst half the party.
When you fight vs. a group of charr eles, they spam you quick to death with Firestorms and Meteors -.- and due to the fact, that your allies in the BMP act like braindead heroes and don't run out of aoe's, they are naturally very quick wiped and you can't flag your team out of them >.< you have to run away and use that dumb quest special skill...
Where we are at the skills...the skills of Saul are the most biggest shit, I've ever seen, Saul is way too much skilled against Mininos, but in this quests, the Minions are absolutely no thread at all (especially when the 3 Mursaats are at your side)
The special Skilsl of Saul are way too weak, those heal skills are crap..
15 HP heal, when you run - thats nothing, are dumb fart can outdamage this instantly.
25 HP per second for only 5 seconds...thats nothing when you and your allies can spammed by like 3+ Firestorms -.- which hold on 10 seconds and do more then 25 Damage/Second...
the only real monk in the team is only Dorian is lvl 18 and is skilled as single target healer -.- Why couldn't made make him a group healer with Healing Boon, Party Heal and so on, with some good e manage ment skills
The Profession Mix Up is in Saul total Crap, under the 3 Mursaasts it would be alot better to give for the team 1 more monk, instead of one more useless mesmer, like an protection/smite monk.
then would have Saul not to do the stupid smite work and could be a better skilled heal monk...for wtf needs Saul 4 Smite Signets -.-
--------------------------
The Rewards of the BMP need imo really to become better...for only 2,5 Platin I don't play such stressy unbalanced crap more then once or for the BMP-Weapons ...
There should be something, that is really special to the BMP, what is really interesting people to play the BMP more then several times for the Weapons, thats more special then the weapons itself...
There should be Armor Rewards... each own Quests should have its own Armor Set (would be 40 new Armors)
Saul would give us a White Mantle Armor Set
Gwen would give us a Charr Armor Set
Palawa would give us an Undead Armor Set
Togo would give us a Celestial Armor Set
Those Armors would the player then receive for trade from somethign special, that only the enemies in the BMP drop.
Saul: Charr Tooths
Gwen: here would drop nothign, here woulld lie the items randomous on the ground at the field, where the charr patrols are running around
Palawa: Sand of Time (dropped by the Undead)
Togo: Celestial Crystals (also lieing randomous in the Snow)
the one, that lie randomous on the snow, aren't marked as dropped items, so you couldn't see the typical item glimmer or the items name, when pressing ALT (or COM), the player would have to use new emote commands in front of them
1st /crouch, then /examine
----------------
This way the BMP would be more interestign and rewarding and also more worth its money which it had cost (especially for all the ones, who bought the bmp via O-Store)
----------------
Other kind of reward would be Minipets for the Discovering:
Discover everything from Saul and you receive a "Mini Saul D'Alessio" > all Gold
Discover ... from Gwen and you receive a "Mini Raven" or "Mini Cpt. Langmar"
Discover ... from Palawa and you receive a "Mini Carven Effigy"
Discover ... from Togo and you receive a "Mini Yuri the Hand"
-----------------
About Skills: everyones is ok, but Saul needs imo really a serious Change, like the whole Quest needs a whole rebalance:
This is the Skill Set of Saul atm:
Signet of the Unseen
Castigation Signet
Bane Signet
Unnatural Signet
Spectral Agony *not the Mursaat one, which is stronger*
Mantra of Inscriptions
Banner of the Unseen
"Form Up and Advance!"
---------------------------
This should be changed imo to this:
Signet of the Unseen (can stay as it is)
Castigation Signet
Dwayna's Kiss
Channeling
Spectral Agony *increase the duration to 9s, because so long holds also the SA of Mursaats and not only 5s*
Cure Hex
and now to the Changes of Banner and Form Up
Banner:
Increase the Duration to 10s, increase the Heal per Second to 50 and make it an Earshot Enchant which entchants the whole party end let this Skill heal for 200 HP, as long the Enchant is up, Hex Spells and Condition Skills on Allies will get interrupted, increase cast time to 2s and reload time to 20s
Form Up: increase heal per second/move to 30 HP, reduce movement speed bonus to +25%, give all allies in earshot, while under the effect of this skill a defense bonus of 25% against elemental damage and invulnerability against knock downs.
This way Saul will become a much better Healing Monk for this quest, which is strongly needed against the massive amounts of charr.
reduce a bit then the amount of charr eles, reduce the level og CHB's from 28 to 24, raise the levl of the lvl 12 charr to lvl 16.
raise the level of all allies to 20,
get rid of this charr spawn crap, when killing charrs in the mission and change it to some addtional Charr Boss Spawns, when you vanguish one of the Charr Camps (which will drop then additional Charr Tooths)...
thats it so far, but people must admit, when you look at the BMP.. there is so much potential in it, how the BMP could have been made better, with a much better replay value and better rewards, then only 2,5 Platin ONCE for discovering...
those dumb 2,5 Platin I've made much quicker by normal farming and loot selling, then by making those dumb discoveries

It is really a matter of preference. My friend bought GW and he didnt play it for more than 1 week. It's just not his style. You cant buy something and then comment about changing it absoulotly just because you didnt like it. It is too arrogant and they shouldnt really care about "improving BMP".

...the missions aren't that bad, you might just need to play better. (Not trying to sound really rude - Saul took me a few attempts - but it's not a nightmare.)
Also, the BMP isn't meant for farming or epic amounts of stuff. Various areas, missions, quests etc give varying yields of exp, gold, items, whatever - there's no reason the BMP has to be up with the best of them. Might perhaps make it not worth the $10 - personally I'd agree, I doubt I'd have liked to pay that much for it - but it's mostly just for interest and showing past storyline, plus some weapon skins as a little bonus. It's not there for you to grind.

Bout Saul's:
Yes, it is hard, but you just need to play a little bit smarter then average. Skill > Build...
I had to play it a couple of times to figure out the right strategy, but that's part of the fun. What's the point in making a bonusmissionpack you can finish blindfolded. (A real one)
Bout the rest:
It's not just the rewards that make this pack worthwile, it's the stories, find out what happened to gwen after the searing, see togo and how he earned the respect of (some of) the tengu etc. If you bought this just for the 2.5k rewards (30k total, not bad I'd say, for us casual gamers) and the weapons, I think you bought it for the wrong reasons...
And the weapons:
They are great! Free (pretty cool, if I may add) weapons for yourself and your heroes. You can buy the neccasery upgrades from the discovery rewards. Perfect.

While I agree that the BMP could have been soooooooo much more I am completely turned off your post by the constant QQing over Saul D'Alessio.
having completed this mission so many times I have to say he does not need any further improvements. Proper use of your skills to keep you and your party alive is not that hard. Its all about positioning and poeper sequencing of skill use. Then there is the amount of char in question, THAT IS PART OF THE CHALLENGE. Good positioning and knowing when to retreat etc is all you need.
So good points about reward improvements but pelase stop the QQing about difficulty.

I think you underestimate how much effort is required for 40 armor sets, let alone 40 unique armor sets.

Stop sucking at the game, and you can complete the BMP with ease. Stop expecting everything to help you get your cartography title. Adding mapping is not going to happen, and shouldn't happen. If someone owns ONLY Factions, why would they get mapping for Tyria or Elona done? If it did add mapping for any of the other games, that would mean the total increases, and people with 99.5% would change to 99.0% (with your 0.5% addition).
I stopped reading the wall of text when I saw you suck at the BMP and want help mapping again.

Just more proof they don't really care about a fun, well-balanced game and always make things way more difficult than they're fun to be. I was overjoyed when they separated Hard Mode from Fun Mode and hoped it would reinvigorate the game to be playable again. Unfortunately, it did not. GWEN came around and it was basically Hard Mode -as- the normal game play.
And THEN there's the whole debacle of items that drop exclusively in Hard Mode. The so-called "I play the game for the challenge!" that everyone who claims the game is "too easy" wants should have been enough. Plus, there are higher normal drops. The mode should never have gotten its own exclusive items.
Sigh.

You are right when u say the BMP was short but I think you go too far to ask for armors...I don't think it's easy dreaming up a new armor when their main attention is on GW2. And Saul's mish ain't too hard...most of the time if u just wait, the charr will move out of ur way.

The BMP is in no way HM style difficulty. The difficulty lies more in positioning and correct use of skills, Which for myself and many others is more fun than other things.
If you pay attention and actually know how to play the game the BMP still isn't hard. Your also forgetting the BMP was meant to be a few free mini missions given out in a promotion, which it is. It was only put up for sale because of others complaining they wanted the weapons.
I myself am quite happy with the BMP and wouldn't change a thing, it works as it was described, the rewards are useful, unique yet not game breaking. The money you get for finnishing cannot be farmed or exploited.
Your supposed to play the game for the enjoyment of the game itself, not for the loot. Loot is mearly icing on the cake, if you play a game you dont enjoy just for the items you get then something is wrong.

1. The BMP was meant as a promotion item, a thank you to those that took the incentive to buy $29.99 worth of stuff (GWEN for most people) from the in-game store. The only reason why it went to retail was the sheer amount of QQ from people who in four months couldn't figure out how to get it. The only people who get passes from the beforehand sentence of snark, is people in other countries who are unable to use the in-game store feature.
2. .5% of Tyria, is a large instance. Why should a simple promotion chunk of coding make your title seeking easier? Download Texmod if you are having trouble. And since this stuff occured in the past, I doubt having it on the map would be appropriate.
I quit reading at that point, sorry. tl;dr.

Is it me or his post mostly QQing about Saul's Story? Also a lot of the rewards are you suggest are unrealistic as you don't know how much effort is needed to actually do everything you want. Also you might want to revise the first half of your post, I didn't understand a thing until I reread it a few times...Sure the BMP could've been more, but then again I doubt ANET is really focused on the longevity of guild wars1 atm.

Let's see, for the ~260 characters (my dudes + heros) I need to kit out eventually I can
A) spend 5 plat + materials per item at a weapon crafter
B) spend an hour or two looking for five fungus infected toenails of the demonic ticklers to turn into a collector per item
C) spend ~15 minutes running a BMP mission and collecting half a plat along the way
Its value is going to be subjective, that much is certain, but for me, a relatively new player for whom both equipment and money are still bottlenecks, it was well worth the $10.

Regarding Saul's...
Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it? He didn't exactly have a cake time fending off a charr army in the previously known lore, and neither do we. It rather makes sense that we wouldn't have uber leet skill bars and perfectly balanced allies, the lore wouldn't make sense otherwise. And by the way- you're supposed to -avoid- killing charr until the end of the mission, that might be why you're getting swamped. As far as the rest, I do agree that the fire enemies are a bit much if you don't position correctly, but if you take on one group at a time instead of sitting in the center it's easier to deal with.
...armor rewards? are you mental? do you know anything about how long it takes to fabricate a single armor set, much less 40 of them? Besides, it was a surprise enough that we got the 4 full weapon sets. I don't care whether or not you whined to get this when it was a one-time promotion- quit looking a gift horse in the mouth and enjoy what you got.

Maybe you should have done some research into what you were buying before you brought it? Would have saved me wasting part of my life reading about how you didn't like it.
Personally I enjoyed the BMP very much, didn't find it that difficult and in fact wished that they had made it harder.

This whine took longer to read than to play through entire BMP.
Then again, I got it for free, as a gift for purchasing GW:EN. So... gifted horse and all that, BMP is fine.
Also the Saul thingy intrigues me. Why is that mission considered so hard. First you hide, then you fight wave after wave with a bunch of allies. AoE is lots of fun there.
Dunno, perhaps on HM or something I've missed.

First off:
I've no problems with the BMP at all, sure i needed for Saul soem attemps, but I've done it, I'm only at the opinion, that the Saul Quest could have been designed better, because it has imo really some parts, which are compared against the other 3 quests totally unbalanced.
Against Saul were the other 3 ones more or less a piece of cake in difficulty. I had with defeating Palawa Joko absolutely 0 problems, also absolutely 0 problems with fleeing from the Charr as Gwen. And Togo was a matter about 2-3 Attamps, after seeing, that there await you in the middle of the quest like 30 foes, which will ambush towards you, when they become hostile, being able to kill you very quick, when you don't use the rage skill there, btw havent it at the point then ready to use. and even when usign it, will survive enough of them, to be able to wipe togo and talon easily, when you don't run away like a frightened chicken then, until talon can tank again for you after auto rez.
ABout that Map thing.. it was just an idea. because we "explore" in the missions new parts of the world map, thus meaning by normal logic, that this should increase our %
-------------------
Yes, i know..40 Armors is nothing, what Anet can pop out so easily..but its only an idea, how to make the BMP more rewarding, other then those single time platin rewards (30P is nothing ... for casual maybe, which are perma poor, but for better players, which don't play casual, its like a pocketmoney) and you#ve to do first all the signle discoveries to come up on 30P...
In the time someone needs to make all 12 discoveries people can easily farm together more then 30P for sure ...
Where is there please a challange, when your weak allies get wiped after countless of Firestorm/Meteor Spams ? and once Saul dies, its over... its no challenge, its just unbalanced, but thats a matter of how you view at it.
No other of the other 3 ones of the BMP have so much Eles in them, which are able to spam so consecutively their aoe's on you, like those charr ele groups.
No other of the 3 has overpowered lvl 28 Eles in it, which are able to kill several of your allies just by 1 Spell ...
-----------
However, back to the suggestion...instead of armors, there is naturally the alternative of minipets for rewards, they would have a huge source, thusby they would be sure very quikc only very less worth, thbecause thweir source would be permanent, they would become very fast the cheapest pets of all.
Whats the problem with special items, that drop only exclusive in special areas?
As long you don't have the BMP, you don't have to worry about those items then.
The whole problem of unbalance I see in Saul aren't even all the charr eles, its more the fact, that the skill set of Saul sucks for this Bonus Quest, it's way too much set on undead killing, than to be efficient vs. charr and healing your party. Thats my opinion about saul.
With the change of skills i made, the player would be more a healer that can concentrate more on keeping all alive, what is imo really needed, because lvl 18 Dorian gets extreme quick outdamaged alone as the quests is now, when fighting vs. charr eles and the bad special heal skills of saul are simple too weak to help really dorian in healing the party against the massive aoe damage

Reward for discovery mode is the only thing that need an improvement, but only if you finish all 12. I know few people who have done all 12. Other than that, content is perfect. possible reward for all 12 discoveries:
Nonmaxiable title
Statue in HoM
customized trinket
