Weekend Event -- "Old School"
I would like to have a weekend event (or even a new battle type permanently added) so that we could GvG where only core classes and secondary could be used....no dervs, gons, rits, or sins. Almost everyone thinks the "new" classes are broken and promote gimmick builds, so would be fun to at least have a weekend without them. Or even weekend without them in any PvP...a weekend would not be long enough for me since I do a little of all the PvP except hero battles, but would be fun.

Please see this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10240284
Having customized options in PvP in your Guildhall would be very cool.
I don't think a weekend event like you describe will ever happen, as that excludes ANet's newest chapters.

It does not exclude the other campaigns because you would still use the skills from the other chapters and the core classes can be created in any of the full chapters so nobody who owns one of the games couldn't play. The system you show in the post does allow you to chose core only but it would require others to manually click the same options or accept your battle...it would be 1000 guilds waiting on someone who wanted to play by THEIR rules and we would be "waiting worth apponent" for 6 days to get a match. The way it would work with my suggestion is you chose to GvG or you chose to Core GvG and the system pairs you up. I think more people would play core GvG than regular so I too doubt they would ever make it permenant, but if they want weekend events to provoke people to play more (and therefore retain interest in Guild Wars until next release) I think this type of event would do wonders in that area. You don't have to agree I am just throwing the suggestion out there

For that /signed As will most of the PvP community I would imagine...
This could also bring back a huge base of the old PvP GW players... and if it did and was succesful, it could result in the implementation of a reward based PvP system (GvG mostly...), much like the current one only for Core/Proph tho...
Ofcourse this dream will never happen so, o wel! :'(
*Edit* It's probably also too late anyway... if they wanted to do something like this... and could do something like this I presume it would have already been done quite some time ago...

They can do it I think....but I think it would requre them to lock down all professions other than core for PvE as well and I am sure there would be way too much QQ about that. (they did it when they pre-released campaigns, we played our derv and gon and then next day they were locked and we could not log in on them or use them as secondary until actual release didn't they?)

It's a great idea, but it will never happen, but, I'll throw in my support.

It would be fun I admit, I'd love seeing how a ranger would work without someone spamming rit and derv healing in it.
