Default Derv/Para elite armor in factions.

Mainly just to pull the number of the armors closer together concerning the expansion classes (A,Rt,D,P) in factions Assassins and Rits get..

Elite Luxon
Elite Kurzick
Elite Canthan
Elite Exotic
Elite Imperial

Dervs and paragons get

Elite Sunspear
Vabbian
Ancient
Primeval

thats already 5 against 4... which I guess you could live with if assassin and rits also didn't get..

Vabbian
Ancient

So now factions classes have 7, 2 of which are cross campaign into elona. Elonian classes don't have that luxury, why? Hasn't anet even thought about this? o.o

well as it stands its 7 against 4. How do we fix that? simple...

We give dervishes and paragons Elite Luxon/Kurzick and Elite Canthan armor... now there is actually some sound reasoning behind this. A's and Rt's do not get primeval or sunspear armor. Now if we go with my suggestion D's and P's will not get exotic or imperial armor. So in the end both campaigns have 2 armors exclusive to their respective classes.

I hope gaile grey actually considers giving a suggest like this over to the people working on this. I mean besides working on titles or AB there is really no reason for a D or P to be out in factions is there?

edit: I mean c'mon, there are no scythes and no spears in cantha either, further proving my point. No reason for D or P to go there besides AB and titles! Hasn't this bothered anyone else besides me?

There is a spear, actually! ... and some scythes...

But, yeah - I see your point. The Kurzicks and Luxons, at the very least, are aware of Dervishes and Paragons - they developed specific skills for them, so it's not too much of a stretch of the imagination to have Kurzick and Luxons craft armour for Dervs and Paras too. Elite canthan is a different matter - given the isolationist policies in Cantha (for example, not accepting non-Canthans into Shing Jea), they probably just ignore dervs and paras too.

It's probably just a stretch for Anet's art team. (Derv elite luxon = FoW with jade spikes and shit instead obsidian spikes and shit? Re-skins ftw )

It bothers me yes, but I doubt that ANet will devote a team to making armors for that purpose.

I'd like to see armor for dervs and paras though.

somehow i knew somebody would bring up "dragon scythes" and archemorous, but i'm glad you see my point. We were actually talking about what luxon derv would look like... spikey jade shards coming out from the shoulders or hanging from the skirt. Canthan I think would be the easiest as it's more or less the quintessential asian theme. Kurzick dervish... i really have no idea... make it look gothy?

Depends on what you want to do in Cantha/Tyria with those characters. Dervishes are great for farming certain places and Paragons just rule PvE and can be used in elite missions well. It's not all about your character getting all of his/her drops for his/herself. It's about using a profession and character for tactical advantage/fun.

As for armor types, I understand your frustration. As a primary Assassin, I'd like to see the hoardes of Prophecies elite armors available on my toon, it just comes with the territory of having an older profession. ANet did attempt to balance out the number of armors available for different professions by introducing GW:EN armor (and proportionally at least, it worked =P), but as for taking newer armors from older professions, I don't like it. New campaigns are for two things: complete new styles of gameplay and further character development. The former is accomplished by creating a new character and experiencing the game, including armor choices, from a new line of sight. The latter is accomplished by playing a different game and experiencing new armors/items with your older characters.

Also, be grateful for what you've got. In my opinion, Monks have *maybe* 2 sets of really hot looking elite armor whereas my precious Assassins have 4-5 decent ones.

For Derv elite Canthan, the obvious - and a very good start - would be to base it on the armour of samurai.
For Paragons, I'd say that some lamellar plate, featuring lion or dragon designs on the shoulders and greaves would be fitting

I completely agree. It's always bothered me that Assassins and Ritualists get two extra sets of armor over Dervishes and Paragons, not to mention extra weapons, but I can live with that.

It seems only fair that they add a Luxon and Kurzick armor sets to make up for this discrepancy.

hmmm... i today actually started leveling my FOURTEEN MONTH OLD DERVISH WHO WAS STILL LEVEL THREE! O_O lol, i remember making him then just getting bored and never touched him again until today, so old he's lvl 3 with a bday present....

but yeah the actual reason I was taking my derv into factions was to do the black moa chick stuff that you need to do there, like getting the incubator and hardening the egg and so forth.. i'm sitting in the leviathan pits and it hits me.... besides the chick there is NOTHING here for me, the armor guy just gives me a blank screen. I was fine until that point. Now it's just constantly bothering me. Kinda feel gyped.

As for sweet armors. I think elite luxon armor for assassins is sweet for the guys to wear, everything else is really just too spikey for my taste besides imperial/asuran (which are really the same thing). Dervs I can't get one nice full set that looks great. Vabbian is the closest to a sweet full set but the headpiece just bugs me, would have been perfect with a hood instead of some wierdo cowl... gotta mix/match male derv armors for smething nice. But now i'm starting to get off top of my own topic.

For males, Shing Jea > all. All them blades and spikes and shit are just silly, shing jea is sleek, business (ninja!) like and... looks awesome black.
And looks awesome with the common gloves too

For whoever said anet wouldn't devote a team to that well.... lets put it this way...

it took them 2 years or so to finally make a 15k knights but they finally did it... i just hope that if its GOING to happen that I don't have to wait till 2009. But yeah, I don't mind less weapons but the armor is what bugs me most. Somebody said at least luxon/kurzick, I can live with that also if need be.

Assassin's and Rits got some elite armor in Elona. I'd be willing to bet Dervishes and Paragons would have gotten elite armor in Cantha if Nightfall came first.

/signed for Elite Lux and Kurz, perhaps Elite Canthan if people really wanted it. It makes sense to me to have these sets with a 10k crafting cost.

I actually drew a Dervish and Paragon Version for Luxon and Kurzick Armor^^.
But I lost it^^, I loved the Luxon Derv Armor^^, I was more Shamanic and Nomadic.
Also for the Kurz Para, It was more of a Emo/Gothic-Christianic Paladin Theme^^.

/Signed

I would want to see how would Anet make Lux and Kurz for Dervs and Paras.
And give Sunspear and Primeval too^^.

But then they would have to give 15k armors in Prophecies for rits/assa/para/dervs.

I'd like Elite Luxon and Kurzick for the Dervish and Paragon professions, but Elite Canthan doesn't make much sense (they're not Canthan professions). I'd imagine Kurzick would be gothic-esque, using lace and intricate design work, wereas Luxon would be more mish-mashy, like pirates. Female Paragons in tattered, cloth skirts with different hieghted gloves and torques? Instead of the floaty-eye thing, they could have headbands made from metal and studded with jade or amber...

Also, though, if Elite Canthan were added for Dervishs and Para's, could Assassin and Rits get Primeval?

Since they created the skills for Kurzick/Luxon for paragons and dervish, I'd be signed for that armor.

GW lacks retroactivity.

No new skills in old campaigns, not new weapon skins in old campaigns, no new armors in old campaigns.

GW NEEDS retroactivity:

- New weapon drops for new professions in Prophecies and Factions.
- New armors (at least just some Prestige sets) in Prophecies and Factions.
- New skills for new professions (or at least tomes in the Prophecies skill rewards) in Prophecies and Factions.

The minimum could be:
- Common spear, dagger, scythe and ritualsits skins dropping in Prophecies.
- Common spear, scythe skins dropping in Factions.
- At least one armor set for A,D,P and Rt in Marhan's Grotto, another in The Granite Citadel.
- At least One Kurzick and one Luxon armor set for D, P in Factions.

We have something like that for dervishes already, it's called ebon vanguard armor You look at that and TELL ME thats not samurai armor.

Abedeus - No they would not. I mean its nice if they would but again I bring up, assassins and rits get armor in elona, dervs and paras do not get armor in cantha though. Thats all what it really boils down to. I can't quite remember but I think because D/P/A/Rt are not core professions is why they are not given stuff in prophecies. Which is really dumb to call a class non-core.

Tatile - I can see where you are getting at and as I said I could live without canthan but why not luxon/kurzick if our D's and P's are fighting for them too?

As for weapons... I would be happy with just like a jade/amber scythe and spear.

Almost forgot to /sign my own topic!

/signed.
