I agree, and maybe a counterpart for Warriors' Silver Eagle...
/signed, that's a very nice idea, I saw magnificent armor concept arts from players

Great idea, but there is a good chance that the beautiful concept designs would be butchered by crappy A-net design when implemented.

As I recall, Gaille said that they would love to do a design an armor, but the problem is getting it implemented. With armor they have to be able to render it on all kinds of body types and it's a really time consuming process.
But for weapons it's much much easier.
I'll see if I can find the link where she talked about it. If someone else can post the link that'll be great.

It sorta struck me as saying, "We're out of ideas, pretty much," when they started holding weapons contests. If they would have done that for armors before EotN came out, we might have had a few more new and fancy armors, and not so many reskins.

For the fun of it why not make a thread in guru and have people post their designs anyway just to see the imagination of everyone :-)
As for Anet doing one...well no i dont think they would i have seen armour skins when they are flat and how they need to be coded and wow its complicated....not to mention time consuming.
When you change your armour piece, it changes the entire body piece, because they simply cant place armour over the "skin" as it where, so they need to design, calculate an entire model + armour.
This is why they did reskins for Eotn because calculations had been made they just did the designing rather than modeling again.

No it doesn't. Pretty much everybody will agree. Everybody wants new stuff.

Way too much work. I don't think people realize how much harder designing armor sets would be.

I'm /signing because we were supposed to get new sets in GWEN but we got some lame reskins. Of all the warriors I've seen since GWEN came out, I've seen 2 asura sets, a couple norn sets, and very few of the others. Granted, Silver Eagle is popular (compared to the others at least), but I'm getting the idea that no one likes these reskins.

I'd rather have them dedicate more time to GW2, than mess with things in GW1
