Default Guildwars Account Number Lock.

From my days of playing Maple Story (Long time ago, grind got too boring), I remember they had you enter a number combo of your choosing AFTER you entered you're pass. Also, to prevent keyloggers, you had to manually click each individual number. I was thinking, why doesn't A-net do this? Make it so every time you want to start using a character, delete a character, or change your account settings you have to enter your number combo? It would work as a great failsafe if someone got your password.

Again, another problem that can be solved with a simple "Don't give out your password."

I realize it would prevent some accounts from being taken, but imo, if you give out your info, you deserve to lose your stuff.

Yeah, I realize that its usually you giving out your pass, but its happened before to people I know, who definitely don't hack, and it would pretty much seal your chances of getting hacked 100% unless you gave your login, pass, AND keycode.

Yeah, Because people are stupid enough to go around saying "My acc info is [email protected] and my password is 12345, please dont try to log in tho!". /sarcasm

Peoples accounts get hacked because of spyware and crap like that. Only 1/500 times does someone actually give out their password.

/signed for OP, it would help secure peoples accounts.

hmm.. i like this idea. of the 24+ months i've been playing GW, i've never had an account hack, a "your account was logged in somewhere else" message, nada. i've always been pretty clean and i'm pretty proud of it. but, i also wouldn't mind having this system implemented for our accounts. i definately wouldn't mind spending an additional 10 seconds logging in. i mean... heck.. wouldn't YOU rather spend an additional 10 seconds to log in rather than losing hundreds/thousands of hours of gameplay? 10 seconds > thousands of hours any day

I would like a pin number for added security to my account as well.

PS maple story was epic fun, but over level 40 the amount of grind required takes the piss.

Ever since the days i started playing Diablo 2 (like, 2000... so bout 8 years?) i haven't had one account hacked. Why? Because i know how to keep my account and password safe.

Anyone else who knows how to keep their account safe will not have to worry about losing them. Excessive and unnecessary measures for those who don't know how to keep a password safe will remain on games like Maple Story, well... do i really have to explain why?

I've had one account already hacked, I don't want to see the same thing happening to other people.

The more safe, the better.

Accounts can be hacked though. I had 3 accts. 1 PvE, 1 PvP, 1 Mule. Thankfully, the PvP one and the PvE one are untouched, but the mule got hacked, along with ~900k.

I've always laughed at Maple Story, but the number pad is an excellent security measure.
