The prot henchies do the same thing. Can't really avoid them using Prot spirit, as it is on their bar, can't disable it.

Ever played minion bomber? I have. And every now and then, I notice that minions have weapons spells on them...

It is a fact that Tahlkora infuses minions.

I THINK they only heal minions when they are very high on energy. My Tahlkora only infused minions when there were no monsters around and when she had high energy... then again this is only an assumption because i've never watched to see if who she was infusing in combat actually was a minion.

Truth be told I haven't had a huge issue with them in ages. But then again - I rarely run a MM in places that would be so hard that the monks doing stupid things would cause trouble for the party.

But since it does not concern me - and it obviously is causing problems for other people - why not?

My suggestion is to have your minion master hero (or real player) bring Blood Ritual, or BiP even, for the monks. Also, Have your MM bring that enchantment spell that gives energy per health-sacrifice made so that he can spam his heals. It's a good thing that Monks heal minions because they're the ones that turn the tides of battle. You want the minions to stay alive, so I believe that hero monks should not stray from the awesome AI ability to heal minions on their own. I also usually have a 3-man healing/prot backline (comprised of a combination of Monks, N/Rts and/or Paragons).

I agree with the issue the op has. But the thing is, heroes do so many annoying things beside this one. And from what I've read so far (Anet's dev interview and stuff), they made Hero's AI to be what it is FOR A REASON (I.E. They intend it to be this way).

So basically I don't see a change coming up anytime soon.

I completely forgot about this. It has cost me Masters several times. Now it definitely needs a fix, seeing as I have no control over what Mhenlo can do.

Monks use the same AI as any class when it comes to skills that target allies. Death Nova, Jagged Bones, Taste of Death, etc. are all used by lots of MMs, and tons of heroes. They target the minions.

The same AI function allows for skills like Protective Spirit, Heal Other, Word of Healing, and even Healing Breeze to work on anything but the caster. It does the same thing for spells like Spirit Light, Windborne Speed, Inspired Hex, etc. as well.

If you make it so hero Monks won't cast on minions, it means that Ritualist heroes won't cast spells on spirits, or any spell will get cast on NPCs like the Ghostly Hero, or any of the numberous allied NPCs for quests/missions.

I'd prefer to have those NPCs, spirits, etc. cast on then minions to be left alone.

Besides, if the MM takes care of the minions properly, the Monk won't be healing them much anyway.

its a good thign to keep your minions longer alive, when your monks heal also the minions ..

the stupid thign about heroes is only their garbage AI ... and that we players are unable to control them really good, because the control system of heroes in GW simple sucks balls.

Would we players able to give our heroes real personal setted AI's, like in Final Fantasy 12 with the "Gambit System" , then would we have in GW a perfect hero System, where heroes would be able to micro manage themself due to an AI Setting given to them, created by the player itself, which tells the heroe, how to handle in all kinds of situations...

There would have the Monk hero then different gambits, which tell the Hero AI, which things the hero should heal, and which things NOT and especially you can tell then the AI, WHEN it should heal something ..

for example, if they should use Skill 1 at 50% health of party member A, or if they should use skill 1 first, when party member A is at under 25% health ...

FF12's gambit system is for personal setted AI's just ideal and its simple to understand and to use ...

This is not bad, this is good for MM's which tactic is it to have long living minions and not being minion bombers ..

also your monks shoot of their energy not only for minions -.- there are still up to 7 other party members, which want to get healed ...

when the monks shoot to quick out their energy, then simple sucks their ENERGY MANAGEMENT in kind of the build... for being played together with MM's in the team , or it are simple too less monks in the team... then are maybe 2 monks not enough, increase to 3 monks and see again, if it stays still so with the heavy energy loss ...

Otherwise the simple solution will be: put a god damn BiP necro into your party or/and a paragon, which should support your monks with Skills for Energy management ....

if this alone helps all not, then PLAY with PLAYERS !!!, because the AI of Heroes is simple shit .... with players you don't will have those problems of unwanted Minion Heals ...

yet with players you get monks actually charging for healing services.............on top of that you also get monks not healing certain people just cause the monk is an asshat

I never had any problem with this. I think there are more pressing problems that I would like fixed first.

Yeah , once in a while the AI messes up, but most of the time it does ok.

Yeah , once in a while the AI messes up, but most of the time it does ok.
Maybe not for you but hero AI works for some and doesn't work for others, which is retarded as all get out.

Except you left out about the part of minion bombers not wanting their minions to last. That's the whole point. It's not the MM's job to sit and spam BotM the whole battle. And no we will not just accept that's how it is, Anet needs to fix what's broken.
