Petition: Caretaker's Charge
[skill]Caretaker's Charge[/skill]
Change functionality to something like [skill]Mind Blast[/skill]
If your holding on item, you gain 1..7..10 energy.

Would definitely help churn out the utility like Ele's can, but I'm a little wary of having 2 of the same skill.

I'd like to see Caretaker's Charge have some usefulness, but with the suggested buff, it is more powerful than Mind Blast, maybe take the unconditional damage down 7 points or so.

Theres alot of skills that are exactly the same as each other. Or if not word for word they act in very much the same way, so I dont see what the problem would be.
/signed to change caretakers to act somewhat like mindblast

Although I don't use it much, I see value in the health gain. The energy gain for holding an item makes it a free spell to cast, and there are lots of skills to work well based on an item held.
[skill]Renewing Surge[/skill][skill]Channeled Strike[/skill][wiki]Energetic Was Lee Sa[/wiki]
I just don't see a major problem with Rits and energy management.

I find the proposal interesting...I personally like the health gain at the cost of lower energy gain, but this would make it more in line with a damage + energy management skill.

I understand.
Although, maybe even a minor change to this skill would be good. Make the unconditional damage lower, and the health gain lower. The recharge is already 2 seconds longer than Mind Blast, which is a long time if your spamming it for energy.

Agree, those skills are overpowered, elites for rt are poor compared to most normal skills.

I'd say 8/9 energy return tops at 14/15/16 spec, keeping health gain and damage (mebbe a slight knock on the damage), for a net 3/4 gain.
Yeah, the energy gain is weaker then than both Mind Blast and OoS, however, it's alright becase:
- Mind Blast needs to power Rodgort's, a 25 energy spell. Mind Blast's return is higher because Eles burn more energy - by comparison, CC powers Rift, Splinter and Rage - 10e, 5e and 5e spells.
- OoS only gives you energy; CC is a DD, slight heal and energy boost all in one.
I'd definately love to see a Caretaker buff, and making it an alternate energy manager to OoS with fringe benefits would be fun.

Caretaker's Charge gives you 50 hp each shot.
So its way better then Mind Blast.

You don't see the energy prob because of Offering of Spirit.
To OP: Uhmm no if only change that skill. Yes if change energy cost of some of the spamable rit spells. Mind Blast is uber with Rodgort. But Rodg is like 25e. Ehem!
